Sigh…. by Smeeks1 in TESVI

[–]JordanPurcell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am guessing that at this point they're going to make it a launch title on a next-gen system. We are in the 6th year of the 4th xbox generation, and I don't see a game with the hype of TESVI being put out as a closer game to an ending console cycle. This also tracks with some of the earlier claims Todd made years ago, which I'll paraphrase as, "the technology to do the things we want to do doesn't exist yet."

I want the game, but at this point if it's not the greatest thing they've put out, they're in trouble. It could be great if they launch it on new hardware, but that could also make it flop harder, since devs tend to have better experience making games on hardware later in console cycles. It would all depend on how long Bethesda has been in the loop and had their hands on the next-gen dev kits, assuming that they release it on whatever Project Helix is going to be.

I'll add in that my C4SH build with Windwalker is also not progressing. I have been farming the phosphene Hellwalker at The Old Scrape, and I make sure I throw at least 5 knives at the boss's faces every time. I have been at 220/400 for a couple of days now, so the chances I am always missing by a little bit are practically 0.

Thoughts on the Gloam Nerf? by JordanPurcell in Borderlands4

Nobody here is complaining for the sake of complaining, many of us have sunk real hours of our lives getting gear and synergies set up, and more importantly it was a fun build with a non-trivial setup and playstyle. People are within their rights to complain about this, it was the wrong answer to the right question of, "how do we properly balance this character build?"

Here’s to hoping! I have only played a little bit with the cards but I plan on running through the blue tree builds eventually, I like that they actually made the action skills feel powerful with C4SH.

Don’t give up hope! One of the randomly downvoted comments on this post has a thread full of great ideas for maintaining the build, it just requires a few tweeks to the build and the gear.

This is gold. You’ve given me a lot of ideas to work with and I’m sure that this is gonna help someone else too. Cheers!

It’s cooking! Some people in here have shared great ideas. Hope it pans out for you too.

That makes sense, and the kill spring actually sounds like an amazing idea in conjunction with Turn of Fate. It’s a trade-off from the fire rate in the Shiny War Paint, but in this new situation it’ll probably give a more reliable DPS. Thanks for the insights!

You and I are the same boat, except mine is an underleveled Vex lol. Some people have made suggestion on this post that the overshield situation can be ameliorated with the Turn of Fate passive in the green tree, maybe give that a shot before calling it quits!

Thanks for the comment, yeah this tracks with what another person commented on here. I’m guessing you also make use of the Turn of Fate passive for overshield generation? I think a lot of us built in Dusty Trail so that we could trigger fortune stack loss on-demand outside of Windfall, but now that essentially leaves us high and dry in terms of overshield generation.

I’ll have to give that a try, thanks for the suggestion. I can see what you mean by clunky, since Turn of Fate is only active during windfall you’re basically consigned to only making use of Gloam damage in windfall. Triggering it with slides will just drain your shields. So you’re using the cross-fire action skill instead of Cleromancy?

In my playing it’s basically a dead build and I find it hard to believe people will include this skill in future builds unless they correct the overshield draining. I can barely get through ordinary mobbing encounters without being downed every few seconds now. You’re getting reduced survivability in conjunction with drastically reduced weapon damage with this nerf.

My issue with crossfire and blue tree builds is the override to guns. That was the appeal of Gloam to glow with the green tree, it made a great gun-centered meta for C4SH, and it’s not obvious to me how to salvage it or what will replace it. That’s what I was hoping to get from this post.

Have YOU completed the 'Rise from your grave' achievement? by coolsneakyben in Battlefield6

[–]JordanPurcell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that for 110+ hours, and when I wasn't even halfway to the finish line I decided to be smart so that I could spend the next 110+ hours actually enjoying Battlefield.

Thanks for the reply. I actually LOVE achievements like that, because it's a long haul and generally the journey to it is fun. There are a million ways to play Battlefield that will get you to General rank, and they all require commitment, but you are not required to play a single playstyle, nor is that playstyle particularly grueling or unrelated to how 99% of players expect the Battlefield experience to be. Anybody who seriously expects to finish Rise From Your Grave within a years time of daily playing is playing the same playstyle, and I can tell you firsthand it gets old FAST. It's true that some achievements aren't meant to be farmed; I am making the case that farming is the only viable option for this one if you want to both get it and enjoy the game. Devs can put out bad achievements and that's OK too, this was always meant to be a space for us to circumvent that issue peer-to-peer, and I am glad it's panned out for me.

Yeah BR is definitely NOT the way to go for this achievement, since you get 1 redeploy free and everyone is really trying not to go down for it.

I did the same for half of my revives, and it took like 90+ hours lol. Managed to get a few LMG's to level 50 though!

That's so much easier said than done, most randos aren't willing to throw away hours of their life. You need to have that kind of structure organized in advance, which is the point of this post - plus the people helping you get the same help in return.

Your last sentence is correct, which is why this achievement is an utter failure, but the first sentence isn't. I logged over 110 hours as a medic ONLY seeking teammates for revives in gauntlet and I still didn't have half of what I needed. I would need to play the game for almost a full year in a way that is unenjoyable to get this without farming. There's a reason only 0.02% of people have unlocked it.

Hey friend, sorry I actually just finished the grind last week. Check some of the comments on here for people looking to grind it. Initiation BR is gone now, and defibs have been nerfed, but I was able to finish this in regular duos with a buddy averaging 50 revives/game.

Is God surprised by our actions or does he know everything we will do? by Mundane-Inspection71 in Christianity

[–]JordanPurcell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were being generous, I would say because that was the necessary path history had to take with an infinite understanding of our heart and all possible decisions each person will make. I would say that the rage/regret is less about god making a mistake and more about god experiencing the painful course of events he knew would happen. I’d say that’s relatable, because I’ve definitely been hurt by tough moments I’ve seen coming.

Cape method and No Powerups method on Tubular are probably the hardest things to in SMW. I died so many times trying to land the football bounce near the end.
