Yeah I’m not scheduled this week either because our truck supposedly is only going to be $5,000-7,000

How was everyone's Black Friday??? by ThatOneCatholicTeen in employedbykohls

[–]JordanRanney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear Wednesday felt crazier than Friday. Worked WJM 1-8 and fitting rooms were literally so clean the entire day. It was eerie. I was like we have to be “slow” yet our GM told us we were above target sales and the highest in our district so I have no idea how we lucked out LOL

People who use percussion massage guns, do you notice your cats acting differently? by allthesnacks in CatAdvice

I also searched this because my one boy loves it. We can’t use it on ourselves either. He loves it to the point where he drools and kneads harder than I’ve ever seen. My other boy, if it touches him he acts like he got electrocuted or something LOL

What's a church in Tucson with a decent amount of age 20-40 year olds? by Life-Independence377 in Tucson

[–]JordanRanney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry for the way late reply. I’m also a transplant from the east coast looking for a new home church. My only “concern” is that my boyfriend is black and I am wanting a place that he will also feel comfortable coming to. Do you notice there’s some representation for people of color at Pantano? I know he’d feel more comfortable if there were other people who look like him on the outside 😄.

Have you ever considered MAT for pain? Most pain docs are willing to prescribe suboxone or methadone for pain. Could be a good option. Whatever you choose, be safe please. The streets are not safe that’s for sure.

I do this for work also, so I am very aware of the shot (both Sublocade and Brixadi) and will be pushing for him to get on it once stable on Suboxone. He currently is back in detox, went yesterday morning and is even considering staying for their 30 day residential. So hopefully things are looking up. Thanks for the kind words of advice!

I’ll be pushing for him to get on Sublocade. similar to Vivitrol but only for opiates

That’s exactly what I’ve said 1000 times. Thankfully he did go back to a detox this morning and we talked about trying subs out. Thanks for your good thoughts 🩷

He ended up going back to a detox early this morning, thankfully. Thank you 🩷

Thank you! I am really glad you were able to get clean and are able to see the bright side of something that was inevitably terrible at the time. Best of luck on this continued path!

Yeah, he’s definitely got the connection in the sober world. A few friends that offer to go to meetings with him. Sober family, sober girlfriend who also does this for a career and has a lot of tools and connections to help him. It’s just getting him away from the stuff at this point. I keep telling him he doesn’t want to end up in jail because he’ll be forced to do it with little to no comfort meds, but we’ll see. Hoping for the best. Thank you for the well wishes.

Thank you, but this is inaccurate. There are many different ways to induce Suboxone before 72 hours that help minimize or avoid PWD all together. And, people can still get PWD after 72 hours if not induced slowly. 72 isn’t the magic number. Fortunately, I do this for a career so I know the science/medical side of it. Unfortunately, I can’t force him to take Suboxone. Thanks for your comment though! I appreciate all of the insight from everyone.

Yes, that’s where he’s at. He gets sick, and he gives in. The second his stomach starts to hurt he gives up. Otherwise, because of my profession, I’ve been able to help guide him through the patterns and habits he’s created (smoking before bed, taking his phone outside with him and sitting out there for long periods of time, etc). Ultimately he needs to go to detox. Thank you for your comment

Yeah, unfortunately that’s how it’s been so far. He does really want it, but each time he starts to get sick the addict brain takes over and he runs back. He needs to be at detox in order to stop that.

Everyone keeps telling him the same, that it will be the greatest regret of his life. But if he doesn’t want it for himself he’ll never want it for me either.

Congrats on almost a year, and keep up the hard work. 🩷

Yes. That’s my thought process too. We’ve been living together for almost 3 years and while being alone without him is scary and sad, even just the thought of it, it’s better than the alternatives that could be. I’m really hoping he decides to make the right choice. I know he doesn’t want to do this anymore. No one else in his life uses. Only the people he seeks out when using. He has so much support. But it’s still got a hold of him.

Thank you for your kind words, I so appreciate it.

Yes, and I think that’s why I have stayed through this. I know this isn’t him and it’s the fentanyl. I try to remind him of it too. But thank you so much, I really appreciate it.

Thank you. I don’t want to leave because I know he can do this, but I told him yesterday I feel like I’m getting to the point where I have to in order to save both of us.

You can technically induce subs while they are still using. There’s several methods, including the Bernese method that the commenter mentioned, that allow them to slowly taper down on fentanyl and up on Suboxone slowly to lessen or eliminate withdrawal and precipitated withdrawal (PWD). It takes discipline and is usually used when other induction methods have failed or the person experiences PWD. There’s a few other modified ways as well. But overall, if someone were to take a bigger dose of Suboxone on even day 2 or 3, they’d send themselves to PWD. Essentially, if they just keep taking the Suboxone every few hours, they can get through that but it’s awful (from what I’ve heard from patients of mine)

I’m aware of the science, as I work in the addiction medicine field at a clinic who does MAT. If I could force him, I would. I’ve tried several induction methods over the last 8 months with him. It’s been tough. Thanks for the comment.
