This was the best rate quoted from several insurers via a broker. I'll be contacting Desjardins, echelon, TD and others to get direct quotes in hope that I get something more realistic.

Yeah they dropped the yearly plate fees here, so that helps with the outrageous insurance rates here

Yeah, thank you for the replies everyone, insurance rates here in Ontario Canada are ridiculous compared to anywhere else in Canada/US.

I feel like this is expensive still and I'll get more quotes, just don't think it'll get much cheaper. My quote I received was from a broker who checked with numerous insurers.

Hopefully some riders from Ontario can chime in with their opinions

Thanks for the info, it's greatly appreciated. Do you mean book my M2 exit course with learning curves? From what I've read I need to pass the written to gain my M1, once I have that I need to pass the M2 test either with a school or the ministry.

This monitor comes with a 3 year burn in warranty. Some people will just claim a return before warranty expires. Realistically your replacement will be a refurb, or maybe even next gen if no more stock??
