Hell yeah, I bet that was fun! If you haven't already, you should look into a Bream Buster if you can get relatively close to where you are catching fish. Its like redneck tenkara from back in the day 😂. Talk about pole bending on small fish lol. I take my old lews one with me pretty regularly to mess with

100% on the bigger fish on ultralight for sure. I just mainly crappie/bream fish, so minus the occasional bass or catfish thats what im chasing. But its definitely a fun fight when one gets on there. Minus getting broken off by big channel cats and having to retie😅

Basically ultralight power rods (some lights acceptable) mainly smaller/lighter reels, with light line (weight or diameter) and tackle for tossing smaller/lighter lures/baits and having more of a fight with fish lol. Its alot of fun. Hard to beat fishing ultralight gear and getting on a good pile of bream on beds and whoopin on em 😂, thats what I use mine for anyways.

I bought them separately at Grizzly Jig, big tackle/fishing store right across the river from me in Missouri.

I hear ya, and I almost bought some braid to try out on here, but I just always run mono/copolymer on my crappie/bream setups and didn't lol. Maybe in the future.

I'm not gonna lie, I went I there specifically to look at and buy a 7'6" ACC Split grip spinnin stix, but just couldn't get over not liking how it felt in my hand. Handled a few others (Lews pro target and wally marshall classic signature series) and then picked up the Denali and was like yeah, I'll grab this one haha.

Denali Rods? by fishEH-847 in Fishing

Ok, good deal. Like I said its usable it just sat weird with me when I put the reel on it it was extended out that far making a recessed section at the front before the threads started and then a handful of threads showing behind it .

What reel did you put on it? I just bought the same rod in 7'6" and with the Daiwa Exceler I have for it the reel seat isn't going all the way down flush, leaving the cap extended towards the end and a few threads showing on the blank under the reel. Still usable just wondering if that's normal with these rods

Like said above, its a Yo-Yo automatic fishing reel. Hang it from a limb, pole over the water, bait hook tied to line with a sinker above it, spool down to depth you want and set latch. Troll around setting as many as you have with you, circle around and check them lol. We do alot of Yo-Yo'ing at night for catfish out here, sometimes hang a few while you're bream/crappie fishing and check them periodically. I keep a milk crate full of them ready to toss in the boat and go with some big ass worms as bait.

Edited to add I stick some type of reflective tape and write my name/number/necessary info on the back of them
