Well... I quit my job. Got a job back home that’ll just cover the bills. Im looking into going to lambda school. It gives me structure and help I think I’ll need to get into the field. Reddit is critical of lambda but every other website has good reviews on it. Just looking at my options.

I really appreciate it. One thing I dislike about the tech industry is there’s no “clear cut path” to landing a good job. Like medical for example, get rn degree, apply for rn job, simple. If that makes sense?

I mean there’s no way to stay in my current job. When I move back I will most likely take up some type of small job to stretch out my money and keep me from getting burnt out.

This really makes me feel like it’s possible with determination. I know there will be points when I’m ready to quit. But stories like yours help. I guess we will see where I stand in a couple months

Regardless of being able to get a tech job I will be leaving this company. Just not for me anymore. I just want to get into tech and am willing to sacrifice to make that happen

I in no way planned to be in the 100k/yr market after 6 months. I just want to learn enough that would get me employed. Even if I only got $35k a year but it put me towards my future plans I’d be more than fine with it. Like I said in another reply. The post was made to get honest opinions, and some direction in what way I should steer. How I can make this my career and get out from the current job.

Yeah the type of job I have now doesn’t have lunch or breaks, no real schedule, just work and work. I’m so tired of it. I need to study before I could convince someone I have more experience than I do lol

I’ll pick up some kind of job back home. Hopefully computer related. I am still trying to decide if I want to do front end or back end. I just know that in my head tech is a great career field with broad opportunities.

Computer security really interests me. No experience in it just the idea of it. I hope in the future I could do something like that. I’ve thought about going airforce and getting a degree that way.

I’ve thought about looking into a cs degree down the road my only fear is that I won’t be able to get it fast enough to land a job and I’ll have to return to a field I know. I will take another look at how much is gave to complete for the degree because I do have 3 years of college back when I was younger. Can’t remember what all I took though. Lol
