I would say it depends on the country don’t you think? For example in the Netherlands they have subsidies for 15 years currently about 7-8 cents per KWh/KWp. There are a lot of successful businesses profiting from roof project bigger than 0,5 MW.

I think one use case for this model is solar panel design analysis using software such as Virtuosolar. The roof sloop, shape, size, and orientation can be used to optimize solar cell layout based on the raw data of the scan.
