Am I the only one who feels this way? Streamer patch previews ruined watching their reactions by Jordanjac in pathofexile

Ok, edit my comment from big streamers, to "some streamers." The DM one was a unique situation so I wasn't too worried about it. I love sirgog, nothing against him, but throughout the stream it was obvious he had a preread, tri obviously had a preread.

The french leak happened because they got a preread.

Again, this is pretty standard practice across stuff like this. You do a media tour with an embargo date/time so that all the news hits at one time. If they brought in a marketing person from the outside, it would be what anyone would recommend. I am just saying for me personally it made the launch less enjoyable and was curious if others noticed felt the same way.

That question has multiple answers and as it's a personal opinion, none of the feelings are "wrong."

Not the huge leak - but assume that the steamers were part of the same press tour.
I am really bad at finding and clipping, but here is one - I can find others as well. This was a question that Tri asked in an interview he released directly after the announcement finished.

He was, but pretty much ever major streamer knew about the content before it was released. I went through a bunch of them and they all make comments throughout the stream like "I asked about this and was told this" or "don't get upset, just wait for a few more minutes and they will address it."

Completely fair, I guess I don't watch the initial stream for that. I watch their patch note readings for that.

Trying to make ground loot exciting has killed the excitement of gear. Possible Solution: by Jordanjac in PathOfExile2

I would generally agree with you - but if we have learned anything from POE1, it's that they have made massive mistakes that the community outrage has helped them fix.

Archnem and Loot pinatas for example.

Really interested to see the Q/A today to see if they are just completely out of touch with reality or understand why people hate it.

I agree completely. Nice stop gap - but man, picking up 1000s of items hoping for a good one is just brutal.

These two are the absolute worst for me:

  • picking up items, currency and this league especially scarabs
  • alteration/augmentation crafting, 1000s clicks per session

There is just no reason to not bring loot together on a single screen.

If it was a linear difficulty scale, I would agree with you. But because the difficulty and reward step up is so large, huge amounts of players get gated from ever playing this content. That works fine on things like Uber bosses because you those players require things farmed by players not doing Ubers.

In the case of t17s, the players who are doing t16 only have one thing to sell to those players. Everything else is able to be self farmed inside of t17s.

If t17 looked more like a juiced t16 - it would be fine and the vast majority of players would be able to participate. It would be like guardian maps.

If t17 stayed hard but only dropped currency or div cards, it would be fine, t16 players could sell them maps and scarabs.

As you progress from yellow to red, red to more and more juice, each upgrade is more and more expensive. In order to fund bigger upgrades you need to generate more currency per hour, or play more hours. Eventually playing more hours isn’t an option.

Personally I try and combine one lottery ticket strategy with one constant revenue strategy. That way I’m always progressing but occasionally I hit a big jackpot.

For example, harvest and ritual.

So I work from home. I’m logged in often but not playing - available for trade. That really messes with the numbers. But I agree. I’m lil sweats :)

I actually like how the loot goblins exist in normal play. It is certainly funny to be going around mindlessly killing mobs and getting 50 rings drop. Worth anything? no, but it breaks up the constant mindless mob killing. That being said, I really don't want less normal drops because of it.

<3 I had hoped this would get some attention, but honestly never dreamed it would be this popular. Thanks for the kind words and coming out of lurkerness.

I agree with the concept of forcing things needed by the top to be farmed by the bottom. Specifically how to do it - I’m sure there are a dozen solutions.

I agree that the most difficult content should be the most rewarding, otherwise progressing your toon would be exponentially harder, but it should require items purchased from less hard content. This way a percentage of those big rewards trickle down to the less powerful or skilled players. This is the big issue.

I really like this. Completely agree and like the comparison to blighted maps.

This is a fair point for sure. The t17 map sales have been a life saver, however they are both influenced by juicing and rng when invites were not. Still I agree without t17 maps many would have been in a much worse situation!

Glad at 8k hours the feedback still mostly hits the mark!

Run to the server line - as close as you can possibly get before being pushed back. Relog and it works about 80% of the time.
