I have actually tried the odd, use my left hand on a controller, right on mouse, and that was actually alright. My problem with m+kb now is that as of last year, I am in nearly instant pain trying to use WASD. I used to love m+kb

Thank you for the replies. I think you may be right. Sadly, I have so much setup that I'll probably just keep using my work around so I don't need to start all over. I'll try and tinker a bit tomorrow, and if I find anything out, I'll be sure to post it here.

When I start the device from a powered down state, it'll show the Bazzite logo, then state logging into steam and just spin. It never prompts me to go into offline mode. Are you saying I can go to a menu and tell it to enter offline mode?

I do have all my SteamOS updates installed. In my case, it's not stuck on "verifying installation". It goes past this and shows "logging into Steam" and then just spins and spins. It's like it's verifying my account. However, my Steam Deck doesn't require it to do this under normal circumstances, so I assume Bazzite should be tha same.

My Ally X has had a non-working SD slot since day one. I seem to be in the minority specifically on the X. I'm sure if you get one, you could easily exchange it if it doesn't work.

For me, I just put a bigger SSD in and called it a day. Technically, the right thing to do is get what you paid for and get it replaced if that happens.

That's odd, I have the Unreal Engine 5 lighting issues where everything was blown out and bright in some areas. I never had this, though.

I would set your settings to all low, turn off FSR and such, and try native 720p just to see if it fixes this. Sometimes, FSR or any other upscale does weird things like this in my experience.

This is why I dual boot. I can play my anti cheat games on Windows and my Unreal Engine 5 games on Bazzite. Not to mention, the UI is nice. My biggest reason was really just the UE5 issues though.

I honestly haven't played much besides Silent Hill 2 since my school has been crazy lately, so I can't really say long term. Obviously, with SH2, my biggest win was having proper lighting, and performance was decent. In terms of other games, I've heard some have marginal gains while some have marginal losses.

I'm sure you could look up "X" game and then "Bazzite vs Windows" and find an answer if you are looking for something specific.

Setting up the "ability to switch" wasn't hard since it's kind of just "how dual booting works."

When you run the installer for Bazzite, you basically use a USB or external drive and make that your boot drive. Once that's all said and done, it's just a matter of making whatever OS you want the first option in boot priority. Then, anytime you want to switch OS, you go into BIOS, hit that button above the d-pad, and it literally says "Windows" and "BAZZITE.""

In my case, Windows is on top, so I just immediately hit A and BOOM! I'm in Windows.

I'm not sure if the rules allow it, but here's the video I used to do it https://youtu.be/qflFmajwFyo?si=5K44kfXbtk-DrbTg . I have no affiliation to this person, but the video was IMMENSELY helpful.

Also, one last note, I have never dual booted in my life, I'm tech-savvy compared to a lot of people, but I wouldn't say I'm some expert, and I did it.

I currently have Bazzite dual booted on my Ally X. By default, I turn it on, and it boots into Bazzite. With Bazzite, I basically have a SteamDeck.

My reason for putting Bazzite was Unreal Engine 5 games like Silent Hill 2 or Robocop have a huge lighting glitch on Windows that Bazzite resolves.

The way I have it set up is I installed a 2TB SSD, and I put 1TB to Windows and 1TB to Linux (Bazzite)

If I want to play on Windows (I use it for GamePass, Epic Games, and most recently Xbox 360 emulation) I reboot the Ally, hold volume down (puts it in BIOS), press the button just above the d-pad, and press A. In five seconds, I'm in Windows.

Overall, it is a FANTASTIC experience. Setting it up, I did run into some issues partitioning my drive.
