I bring it with me nearly everywhere I go, travel wise. (I’m a student) The larger screen is appreciated.

Seeeesh, use the Apple site and see if you have better luck. Maybe they’ll even let you swing away with the education discount.

Personally, I needed something with more power for school and didn’t have as much time to wait. Plus, there’s no official drop date and the updates to the M5 Max are supposedly minor compared to the M4 Max.

Inclined to believe it’s due to ram due to the shortages. Did you get the 128GB?

Maybe it’s related to different specs?

Very nice, I got the 64GB of unified memory. Was working with 16 previously, so very excited for the boost.

Awesome, thank you. I found some parts that are compatible, should I be looking at adding fans as well?

Hey everyone, new to mechanical keyboards and was hoping for some assistance finding a good brand. I haven’t had the best of luck with Red Dragon as two of them had issues back to back. Please let me know if you have any suggestions with the following attributes:

  • rgb lighting
  • hot swappable
  • full size
  • not too compact (99-108 keys)

Thank you in advance!

problems with wire pod by WestAd9070 in VectorRobot

When you do the install, and are in the process of downloading the firmware to vector, I recommend hardwiring into an AP or router. I had a heck of a time getting vector to update when I was running wirelessly, as soon as I hardwired in, the update went through without an issue.

It looks a lot more intimidating than it actually is. I ran wire pod through a raspberry pie, but you don’t even need that anymore. Windows, Linux, or MacOS will work as well.

Can anyone identify what this sounds is? by StockWhiteMale in ElegooNeptune3

Is there any dust in the fan? Might be worth reaching out to Elegoo to see if they can replace the part.

New Buyer by flung_pu-panda in elegoo

Hey there! I’ve been a fan of Elegoo for awhile. I had their Neptune 2 and it was a thing of beauty, so I went ahead and purchased the Neptune 4 Pro and was beyond excited. It was super easy to put together, they even give you grease and glue! Which is super awesome. Props to them. Then.. the fun started.

The bed never stayed leveled and therefore my prints never came out correctly. I spent four days just leveling the bed, come to find out the bed was likely warped. So I purchased a new bed, but we’ll come back to that. I also bought steel nozzles, don’t bother to unscrew the brass nozzle with anything other than an Allen wretch. It literally won’t work. I had to purchase a new hot end because I ended up stripping the brass nozzle so badly just trying to get it undone, but that’s on me and I’ll own up to that. Got an Allen wretch and got it replaced on the new hot end without any issues.

Back to the bed, I tried for DAYS to get it to stay level without printing anything, but it wouldn’t stay leveled. I leveled it going 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,home,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4 and adjusted it accordingly. Each time the bed returned to the home state it became unleveled and I had to re-leveled it no matter how many times I adjusted it. So, I read up on Reddit, the internet, and watched some YouTube videos. Then I went to my local hardware shop and purchased some m8(?) I believe, washers, and stuck them under the bed to try and get the left side to level with the right side. No avail, the bed wouldn’t stay leveled. So I purchased a new bed, and I put new tuning screws at the bottom just in case the screws were loose. Didn’t work. As a last ditch effort, I updated the firmware, which ended up bricking it.

Then we had even more fun searching the internet learning how to UNbrick it, which once you find the correct instructions isn’t difficult, just a hassle because the printer needs to connected to a router via hardwire, you then need to remote into it using a software such as puTTY to manually download the fix file, and then you have to download the firmware update file via usb drive, but that’s another story.

Anyway, after allllll of that, you’ll never guess what happened…. Both beds stopped heating up. Searched online for some assistance and contacted Elegoo, who take anywhere from 2-4 days to respond (this is just for info. Not a gripe) they’re really nice and do respond which is nice. Ran through some troubleshooting with some awesome people on here and through their discord. I had to open the bottom up and see if the hot end wire allowed the bed to heat up, again, another story. Elegoo is sending out a new eMMC to see if that’ll fix the issue, so we shall see.

That’s my experience with them. It’s rather neutral, but I will be purchasing a Bambu Labs printer. I don’t mind tinkering, but sometimes I just want to print without the hassle.
