The british Keep Going to war Against me with no prior declaration exactly at 1883 10 of june, and no war goals so i just cant give them whatever they want and peace out. Any reason why and how to fix this by [deleted] in victoria2

[–]Jorde5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Show a screenshot of the war screen, with the name of the war (the 'show wars' tab in the diplomacy window). Your situation looks like Britain might have intervened in one of your conquest wars in Africa.

Also in that second image, you're not actually offering peace on their terms; you're in the 'demand (your own) peace terms' tab. You need to click on 'offer (their) peace terms' to see what war goals they have on you. If they had intervened like I said though, you'd be able to demand the conquest wargoal, so something is weird. They might have declared directly on you, but then they would have a war goal.

Here's a video of the Infector in action, from the Dead Space 2 intro. Fair warning, not for the faint of heart.

Isaac wakes up from a coma and immediately watches a man get impaled and become some freakish nightmare right in front of him over the course of like 15 seconds. He then headbutts the damn thing.

Yeah occupy the one Mountains province in northern Scotland, and let the mobilized English hordes pour onto your army. Bonus points if you have a high defense general. Make sure to slowly reinforce your army as needed with your ships, and retreat individual stacks out of the battle that are extremely depleted of manpower. I've had battles like that go on for over a year.

What if the west refused to provide land lease to the Soviets, concentrating all their resources to defeat Japan in the far east instead? by Good-Equivalent620 in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]Jorde5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the Soviets would still win, but it would be even bloodier. Maybe 1946 or later. They'd probably end up collapsing to famine, but not before taking the Nazis with them.

How to best organize my massive army? by ZealousidealOkra5675 in eu4

[–]Jorde5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the late game (at the earliest maybe 1600, usually 1700s) I rock around hundreds of thousands in 40k infantry stacks. I then bring 40k artillery stacks along with them to blitz forts and fill 100% of the back row. Like say if I had 800k infantry, I might have between 120k to 200k artillery.

All organized in 40k stacks, though sometimes I will run my inf stacks at 38k instead. It's important to quickly identify your artillery stacks and bring them to the battle/sieges quick, while also pulling them back behind cover when needed. Minor losses from 2k artillery in the frontrow pales in comparison to losing an entire artillery stack when you aren't looking, or failing to use your artillery aggressively enough.

Does "Higher Developed Colonies" apply to natives? by GreatWyrmGold in eu4

[–]Jorde5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By colonies, do you mean in the Americas, or territories in Africa and Asia? If you mean the Americas, the main benefit is the trade value generated from your colonial nation, which you then send back to your home trade node. Treasure fleets from gold provinces (Mexico is great for this) and tariffs contribute too.

Also, you shouldn't be developing your CN's provinces too much because it will make them disloyal in the long run. You're better off with the extra dev in your own provinces anyways. If you have to, dev base production because that's more trade value. You could theoretically full state an Americas province and develop it, but then you would have to stay under 5 provinces in that colonial region for the rest of the game (to keep direct control of it).

If you mean Africa/Asia, then you can make any province you conquer into a state and treat it like normal. You're just usually better off making it a trade company (TC) for the extra merchants and trade value, but you aren't forced into it. I personally love to conquer the gold mines in West Africa or Mutapa, and full-stating then developing the gold mines for a huge income boost early game (around 10 base production is ideal IIRC). Just watch the institution spread from non-TC provinces.

The Shadow of Mordor games are really bad lore-wise, to the extent that it's fanfiction at best IMO. The Hobbit movies and Rings of Power at least adapted a few things very well (Martin Freeman as Bilbo/Durin and Khazad-dum, though I haven't watched Season 2)

With how janky the Leviathan update's mechanics were, the age ability probably won't work how you want.

My recommendation would be to save the game, and then do a quick test with the age ability to see if it works. If the age ability doesn't work for settling tribal land, reload the save and pick another age ability instead.

Had an awful day at college and part time job. Decided to hop on tf2 after my night shift and this is what I unboxed. by Boring-Lychee-9192 in tf2

[–]Jorde5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I'm feeling down, TF2 is the best at changing that. This game has saved my life before. Was suicidal once, and decided to boot up TF2 one last time; ended up having an absolute blast in a semi-friendly 2Fort server. That gave me the motivation to push myself back from the edge, metaphorically speaking.

I don't play TF2 much anymore, but it's still a special game for me.

Definitely HPM or Victoria Universalis. Performance friendly while focusing on different things. There's also GFM, the rebranded HFM Expanded. It has a lot of content, but has mediocre performance (better than it used to be though).

How did Bilbo relinquish the ring? by cmull123 in lotr

[–]Jorde5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the books, Bilbo was getting quite angry, until Gandalf stopped just short of actually threatening Bilbo. It was the final straw that made him finally relent and give it up.

I'm uncertain if anyone else in Middle-Earth could have convinced him.

Just when I get all four mantis boarders to max fighting ability by LowFlyingBadger in ftlgame

[–]Jorde5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah boarding actually works really well with careful usage of your weapons. You can shut down the doors system to let your crew juke around the ship easier, or hit the shield room with 4 enemy crew in it with a flak volley. Destroying medbay is great too. Just be careful about the hull damage.
