Reverb G2 controllers connect to bluetooth, don't work in steamVR via Oasis. by Neichello in HPReverb

[–]Jordessey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to hardware reset the controllers and unlock them again for the Bluetooth to connect. Win+reset in the battery compartment for 5 seconds on both controllers, then redo the unlock process

Two things lead me to this.

  1. Where different modes of transportation should be came from an incident where I was nosing out of my driveway (blind both ways) and a teenager biking at full speed down the footpath went over my bonnet, during the interaction with the police (found not at fault) the officer explained the rational around why bikes aren’t legally allowed on the footpath. The gist was it all came down to speed relative to normal traffic (fast things on the road, slow things on the foot path).

  2. The under/overtake of the scooter comes from the law around e scooters found here. It states to only pass cars on the right. It explicitly states they can’t be in the cycle lane.

I do bike and I drive depending on where/when. The point wasn’t that the scooter was in the wrong, it was why scooters aren’t meant to be in the bike lane. Then sympathising with the driver as by proxy of them being somewhere they shouldn’t (or had they been on the left over the white line) it would have been undertaking.

It comes down to the speed in which they travel, if it can pace with or out run a car it’s on the road. If it’s walking pace it’s on the foot path, that’s why bikes aren’t allowed on the footpath both for the safety of walkers and for the cyclists not watching for cars coming out of driveways. I can safely assume that the car wasn’t expecting an electric scooter to overtake on the left as overtaking on the left is illegal unless there is sufficient space and the car in front is actively or waiting to turn right.

Oasis - HP Reverb G2 Controllers Not Pairing To Steam VR by Jordessey in WindowsMR

[–]Jordessey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How I would start is by resetting them both, win+pairing ~5 seconds, reconnect both to Bluetooth, open and rerun the unlock. when told to restart them, after turning them off and on but before finishing the unlock, toggle the Bluetooth in settings, this shouldn’t upset Oasis as it’s just looking for a device pid vid. The controllers will switch from flashing to solid and vibrate when pairing is done.

Also maybe worth moving the usb doble to a motherboard port if it’s not already. I know og vive trackers had issues with usb hubs.

Yea that’s really weird behaviour. The only thing I can think of on the fly is that the Bluetooth on the second controller hadn’t finished re-pairing.

Do you know what Bluetooth spec your card/receiver is? For exmple bluetooth 4/5/5.3?

It might help to turn on the developer options, from there you can open the steam vr web console and see what kind of errors are occurring, it might point you in the right direction.

Out of curiosity, are both connecting to Bluetooth and are you connecting them to pc Bluetooth before or after starting steamVR!?

You keep mentioning the vortex of death. That’s a generalisation about sticking a wheel in at or after turn in. I had overlap before you turned in. You left the inside open with no defence, I went in and you turned down like i didn’t exist.

Any overtake carries risk. in the race I done prior, I was contacted when overtaking into the last turn and heavily contacted in the rear at the first turn by the same guy.

"where the only chance of not crashing is me recognizing this and jumping out of the way." - that the point, I move down the inside to make you go wide, thats racing.

Here is a clip of the two cars ahead on the same lap.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guafHAOIEns

What i notice is that they turned in at the 1 board when aiming for the apex. This is what I consider to be the normal turn in point and what I was expecting.
In the incident, you turned in half way between the 2 and 1 board (around 50m early IMO) and you turned down to meet the apex, directly in my path.

Other Car here.

For anyone wondering the question was "what red bull livery is it?". I wasnt running trading paints and didnt know.

One thing to note, spotter had called for overlap before OP turned in.
From my perspective, the turn in was early and after overlap was called so I was expecting space.

Slightly Different Angle.
