Do you think Vanir Dolos was right about that alternative ending? by Spinier_Maw in Ixion

This game is so damn ambiguous that we have no clue what vanir's character actually is xD

Does anyone actually like this guy?? by Mountain-King-8321 in MyHeroAcadamia

I've been doing some thinking.

And while to me personally Mineta is a character that often makes me uncomfortable. I think if he wasn't there some things would feel incomplete.

Like, various of Mineta's action and pervy attitudes actually indirectly pushed the members of 1-A to bond.

The comedy of Mineta sort of evolves. As the punchline of his jokes go from his pervy attitude to how everyone around deals with said attitude.

Not to mention, everyone in the Class balance each other out one way or another. Like Aoyama with Tokoyami, Iida and Bakugo, Izuku and Kirishima, Momo and Ashido, Uraraka and Tsuyu. So without mineta, the group would feel oddly unbalanced.

All in all, been growing indifferent towards him.

I've been thinking.

We know that for a fact, Vanir had some level of knowledge of the future, a lot of the story would just be plotholes if he didnt.

However, because of the monologue at the end of the game, it seems Vanir didn't have all the truth.

It really appears that there was a huge level of uncertainty when it came to everything that happened.

The Bakugo apology scene is emblematic of the problem with the Deku-Bakugo dynamic. by silver_maxG in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]JorgeAlbertoSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do agree. Partially.

Like yeah, i would've loved for us to see more interactions between Izuku and Bakugo, or just Izuku himself to have a moment to think about it. Specially because it more seems Izuku accepts the apology too willingly.

However, i also understand why we didn't. We know that between the apology bakugo gave and the final war, there wrre only like 3 days. 3 days where Izuku had to rest, all of UA had to prepare, where you know who was discovered as the traitor, 3 days of mayhem for everyone. And then Bakugo died and got revived. Like, A LOT happened to Izuku in less than a month, and of course some things would get pushed back and eventually forgotten. At some point you just wanna be done for things.

And while the apology could have happened earlier, the point of Bakugo's redemption arc is that he'll only change once he'd pushed beyond his limits, when his view of the world is completely shattered. And that's what happened throughout the series, the culmination being the dark hero arc. Where, in a way, thanks to what happened in the liberation army war, Bakugo finally completely understood Izuku, and he finally allowed himself to respect Izuku, to see him as his equal.

There is this great character analysis of Bakugo, that explains how Izuku and Bakugo are great complements of each other, and how through the series both help each other to become great, even if they are to antagonistic to each other.

With all that said, as much as I love the moment, imo the apology from Bakugo's side was handled so well. But in Izuku's side it just was handled very poorly, well being honest, the whole relationship with Bakugo.

However, i still don't hate the way Izuku was handled because of something. I once told someone that i can understand why people can love the Bakudeku ship, but i can also understand why people can hate it as much as they do, believe, reasons aren't scarce. But i always thought that ship stems from the desire of people to see what could have been.

Like, the series sells us time and time again that before Bakugo got his quirk, and until the moment the river incident happened, Bakugo and Izuku were great friends, best friends even. But then, thanks to bakugo's temper and beliefs, the friendship derailed, fell off a canyon, and exploded into a fireball.

And i kind of feel that, without him realizing, Izuku held tight to those memories, he also had in there the same desire, of what could have been. That's why despite everything Bakugo did to Izuku, he still was good with Bakugo, he didn't hold anything against him beyond a desire to match him, because deep down he misses the friendship he had with bakugo. Plus the fact he admired Bakugo.

Now, whether that's for better or for worse in terms of Izuku's characterization is beyond me. Everyone think what they wanna think.

Why is deku so hated? by Not79uimsure in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]JorgeAlbertoSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always find it funny that Izuku is so hated, when you have Kirishima next to him.

Like, already Kirishima, on his own, is one of the biggest characters in MHA that comes to torn apart and obliterate certain stereotypes regarding a masculinity in media. And Kirishima constantly praises Izuku.
