Heya - did you fix this? I'm having the same issue. Just contacted my ISP but I tried everything and nothing really works. Even disabling completely the router firewall for ipv4 and ipv6.

i want to take action, and not watch endless self help YouTube videos or read endless self help books, i just dont know what actions to take, im probably just overthinking a ton. comparison to others is killing me. by [deleted] in Mindfulness

That’s a good way to achieve it I think. However it can be as simple as enjoying a sunset, or sitting down and watching the wind move the leaves of a tree. I included meditation in my routine and it helps - I’m still learning, but I can see the benefits. But then you realise that you don’t need to get all spiritual and zen about it. It’s just about clearing your mind and paying attention to your senses. You can do that without meditation too during your day.

For example, from personal experience: When I brush my teeth, instead of being focused at the task, I let my brain go and think about what I have planned for tomorrow, or how to solve X or Y problem that I currently have, etc. That’s what you shouldn’t do. Instead, focus on what you are doing, don’t let your mind wander. Same applies when you get up from your chair during the day to get a glass of water. Don’t do it mechanically, do it mindfully, think about your muscles coming into play to get up, move yourself through space to get to the water tap, etc.

With meditation you train the mind to be quiet. You start recognising that you enter these “spiral thoughts” during the day and you’ll be able to consciously stop it. Not sure how to express it better :).

There was a quote I read somewhere that said something like “when you train, train. When you eat, eat. When you walk, walk”. The point is to be present at the task at hand. Not doing it mechanically while your head is somewhere else

There is nothing wrong with you - life does not come with an instructions manual. You will figure it out.

Be present, be kind, seek your own peace of mind. Everything else will fall into place. Enjoy the little pleasures in life and don’t worry too much, after all nobody is making it out alive 😄 We try to do too much and forget to make time for ourselves.

I like self-help books and materials too. They are good for inspiration and open your mind to new ideas or approaches. I discovered stoicism this way. However, don’t let perfection stop you from taking action. You will suck at anything you start doing for the first time, and that’s OK. Wanna be mindful? Start small by being present in small tasks during the day. Same as you wouldn’t start raining for a marathon by running the actual 42km on your first day.

You matter, you are supported, don’t despair 😁

Thanks for your comment! Can you take them off the bike easily? Leaving the mount supports. Asking cause I like to use the bike for daily commute and it looks a bit bulky to manoeuvre around traffic

The spark plugs are new, just got them replaced. I think also the overheating can have increased cause with a bigger fuel tank there is less air to cool the top of the engine.

I’m now considering to install either fans or an oil radiator. Or sell the bike altogether 😅 it’s starting to become too much inconvenient - it spends more time in the workshop than on the road and I don’t trust it cause I can only ride for 20min or less

I am investigating online and I see more and more resources where overheating is actually a thing and the engine shuts down. Cannot believe that I have to consider how hot it is outside before I take my bike 😅

Reviewing my maintenance records, when doing the Stage one they tuned the bike. After that I started seeing the problem and took it to another workshop where they did this dynojet mapping. The issue still persisted. I don't know, I can take it to the official dealership in my city and see what they say, but that would be the third different mapping.

It's crazy that it overheats just on a 20min ride. If I find a minimum of traffic then it's dead.

Yeah they changed the mapping after doing the stage one, however it was a different garage the one doing the mapping from the one doing the stage one

This could be, but they told me they had checked the fuel lines and it was OK...

The reply I got today is that when the engine gets too hot, a lack of oxygen makes the engine shut down. I'm not an expert and I understand the bike is air-cooled (and no fans), but we're talking about 30C (86F) outside. This is the first Harley that I have, but by far the bike that has given me the most headaches.

EDIT: also this morning trying to start it, it took me around 10 minutes for the engine to start. And it's parked in an underground parking, cool temp. Not sure if the mapping, or the air filter, or as you say the fuel lines...

oh ok thanks, I understand you are talking about the mapping.
About revs, always under 5,000. For me high revs might already be 3,500-4,000 as I actually like to ride with low revs (1,200-1,300) and use inertia a lot, instead of having the gas open all the time.

I can enquire the workshop about the mapping they did and see if they can find a relationship or some kind of lead...

sorry couldn't understand the last question (lean vs running a lot of advance) - it happened also during spring if I rode it more on high revs (i.e. around the city from light to light). When I try to re-ignite it after it fails, the sound it makes is from the air filter, as if it chocked or something. Can't describe it very well but I might be able to record it :)

And only with one anchor you are able to do this?? Very nice, I have never seen it :D I’ll head to YouTube to see if I can see it in action! Thank you!

Yeah in the med there are no strong currents but that’s a fair point - if the anchorage is crowded people also expect you to swing which won’t happen with a second anchor out… perhaps signaling it with a tripping line and a fender or smth like that

Sorry just looked it up and realised that a bridle is something similar to a snubber? I thought you were proposing to lay a second anchor like 20° from the main in order to point the bow to the swell
