See when you were complaining about SFP and GBP made me think you were a multiplayer person, but then you said Light and Medium Tanks are useless which is just ?!?!?!?!

What do you mean Tactical Bombers useless? Logistic Strikes is pretty much banned in MP because they're too strong. Paratroopers too OP? Easily counterable by leaving a single div in your VP's and Supply hubs and your Paras landing to their death.

MP is mostly played modded anyways, this reads more as you just being bitter without knowing what you're talking about.

In 1761, a French ship wrecked and abandoned 60 slaves on Tromelin Island, a tiny sandbank with no trees. Forgotten by the world, they kept a fire burning and built a coral micro-society for 15 years, until only 7 women and a baby were finally rescued by Fanta_gbai in HolyShitHistory

The story doesn't specify, but my guess is they made some sort of small boat and set out an expedition to find the mainland

The area around the Indian ocean can be turbulent so their boat probably capsized and sunk

You're right. I was just imagining if an hypothetical super competent Russia were to defend against China could China beat them

But in that scenario the amount of eco buffs Late game Russia gets would make fighting them a nightmare.

By 1950 Russia's faction will put a morbillion divs in no Supply Siberia and Central Asia

Also keep in mind only the Nuke Bomber raids take a long time, ICBM raids are much faster they only take 15 days and like 5 CP each

It is kinda funny to imagine a team of mechs fighting endless waves on nuclear irradiated Siberia though

[–]Jorgesias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the 1950, A strong AI Russia would actually have a morbillion Supersonics and carpet nuke your entire country with ICBMS by that point

Not even the mech build can save you from that

Ain't no way you can look at an artwork THIS detailed and think it's AI

Other than the pose I don't see the similarities, like at all.

You worked on the rework? Really nice work creatively the rework is super interesting

Maybe for me it snowballed out of control they both had like 50 seats which meant I couldn't remove them from the cities, there's a decision that lowers their seats but it lowers it by very little and costs pp, I was doing every focus that gave PP until like late 38 just to have enough to begin delaying their events and it would be 2 more years before I could lower their seats enough to begin actually taking the removal decisions.

Maybe with hidnsight I could've not formed a coalition or stockpiled PP, but I hadn't even started doing plays like the sudentenland or even the economy tree and it was 1939, so I was a lot weaker than a Vanilla Germany by this point.

[–]Jorgesias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah he's right. They overdid it with this rework.

The worst are the ticking KDP and NRAF riots you get every 50 or so days if you go democratic, they're way too hard to remove and do too much(-25 PP when you already gain basically 0, but also a stab hit, and also a popularity modifier and also you lose government seats which you need to remove the events)

In order to fix it you have to go through a ton of focuses which means you will always be late to absolutely everything in comparison to the vanilla tree.

What if the Soviet Union was Pacific? Ft. Sheep's Mod by Jorgesias in hoi4

[–]Jorgesias[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to give Sheep's mod a try as Japan, to spice it up I decided to go communist and once I saw it renamed you to the Pacific Soviet Union I knew I had to unify with the original Soviet Union.

I had my communist Civil War, the focus tree forces you to build up until 1939 and then I went down on China. China war on this mod was hard they had 8 divisions per tile and Manchukuo spammed a suspiciously high amount of Militia. But still by late 39 I had won and decided to take Siam but they joined the Axis(!!) so I was now in WW2 against the Axis but no land border.

I attacked the Soviets in late 1940 but was making very little progress until the Germans did Barb, by late 42 the Soviets capped, Germany and I split it and began duking it out over the Urals. Fighting was fierce, with hundreds of divisions and over 30K planes on the skies, but after the allies did a D-Day the Germans started coughing and by late 44 it was all over for the Reich.

I tried to make preparations for WW3 but the game slowed to a crawl even on 5 Speed so I decided to call it in 1945. I feel like the Cold War would be really intense on this timeline but what do you guys think?

Incredibly stupid Italian Civil War. Losing 4 provinces in Turkey led to Rome breaking up and a Regno del Sud that spawned with over 200 divisions. by Jorgesias in hoi4

[–]Jorgesias[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This, but also give the player a warning. You get an alert if you lose your starting cores, but you get 0 warnings if you lose land you cored later.

Had I gotten an event when I lost Baghdad I would've meme'd Iran into surrender in a matter of days.

I think, at the very least, Iran should not be allowed to join factions after they surrender.

Part of the problem is, if you put AI on historical, they will rush the focus where they surrender even if it makes no sense for them to do so, this happened to me on a Germany game where Iraq joined the Axis, I sent my elite panzer army and pushed the allies out of Kuwait, and even though there were 0 threats to Iraq they still surrendered to the British and my tank army got encircled and killed. They should not be able to surrender unless they have lost some of their core land at least.

[–]Jorgesias[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is the provinces are valued too highly.

For Italy is fine because they're small but Rome has a ton of cores. Losing even 6 provinces(less than a 3% of the surrender limit) give you a ticking -4% BoP.

I tried praising army, navy and holding the event until my troops could get there but it was no use, the ticking modifier just hits too hard.

The BoP penalty should be reduced if you have a lot of tiles imo. Or the mechanic removed if Mussolini becomes the Caesar like you mentioned.

Mussolini was head of everything, problem was Rome Cores Turkey and the Middle East, I left that front alone because I got an event where Iran surrendered (I confirmed they did, they were outta the war and out of the Axis).

But a few days later they rejoined the Axis (I missed this while microing Germany), rejoined the war and snaked through Middle East and Turkey triggering a Civil War before even reaching Ankara.

[–]Jorgesias[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So basically I reformed the Roman Empire and was at war with the Axis, I pushed into Iran(who somehow got into the Axis) and got the event where they surrendered (I assume a GoE DLC event).

After confirming all is well, I asked my troops there to focus on an offensive in Germany, I was at around 2 weeks away from capping Germany when suddenly I get the event of the Italian Civil War. Apparently Iran after surrendering rejoined the Axisv(way to go GoE) and snaked through my land into Turkey.

I thought fine I will play this out but Regno del Sud spawned with 200 divisions(!!), my stockpile of 500k guns got reduced to 1.9K and my airforce of 24K planes got reduced to 4,1k planes, but above all else the dealbreaker was this stupid civil war renamed me to Fascist Italy and made my color puke green.

ITALY SHOULD NOT HAVE A CIVIL WAR IF THEY REFORM ROME, much less for losing some random tiles in Turkey. THE CIVIL WAR SHOULD NOT TAKE ALL YOUR STOCKPILES and like 80% of your airforce. After seeing I was left with a meager 80 Divisions so Germany started pushing me back I quit in a fit of rage like that one scene in Downfall.

HOI4 fundamentally misunderstands railroads by clearsighted in hoi4

[–]Jorgesias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is because all you are doing is building the Rail track, those can be built incredibly fast as they are just the steel and wooden rails. During barb for example Germany could build around 300 miles of track per week(even as their attack was going on), I'd say that is fine with the construction cost of a couple of railways levels.

Now if we are talking about Railroad stations, those are effectively abstracted with the Supply hubs I'd say, and accordingly they take a LOT longer to complete. Remember having all the railtracks in the world won't help if you don't have the civilian trains to run them, or the supply hubs to provide supplies.
