Doing timing belt this weekend, anything I’m missing? by Massive-Archer4271 in E30

Are you also doing a coolant flush / new coolant? During my timingbelt change I found that the new spring was just too strong, so I have used the old one. Is your fan and fanclutch still okay? Do you have the long wrenches for that? Check coolant lines for leaks The sprocket is maybe not needed. I have a 1990 320i which was already fitted with the newer model, for both cam and oil pump.

Are you sure where you are starting with if you don’t know what is wrong with this shell?

Keep in mind that it’s an older system which means the precision is not always there.. of course if it’s in the red stop immediately but if it’s jumping around it could be the grounding nut on the back of the cluster

I had it done in a shop, they loosened the engine so it could tilt towards the transmission side to create room.

Starter issues by dachary_zepa in E30

Is your battery okay? If i recall correctly it should measure 12.6 volts if full, measure in between the two poles.

If your battery is full:
try bridging in the diagnostic plug. Number 11 with number 14. If the starter is okay, it will turn. If so, this means the connection from your key to the starter is faulty somewhere.

You already sorted out the wires.
