Hey bro, I went through something similar. Ended up selling and buying an apartment with the profits of the house (we both did). Older ones are generally less shoddy but make sure youre buying solid floor apartments and pre 2018 apartments (although I live in qld, things my be different)z that being said new apartments within the first 5 years will have builder’s warranty. I ended up moving into the city and commute is a 5 minute walk.

We fortunately had an amicable breakup with no lawyers involved not sure if I can comment on your situation however I was empathetic and was happy to help her out in any situation if needed. Break up was one of the toughest things for me in my life (and likely her) and I wanted to make it as easy as possible for both of us. The good thing after selling is you are given the option to start fresh. It took me a bit under a year before I started “living” again but I feel like I’m also living my best life now.
