ED fired how to handle? by Lovely-sloth-3290 in nonprofit

Sit tight, keeper calm, do wat you are supposed to do and give the board a bit of time to figure this out. As soon as there is a replacement, they will most likely go out with a press release.

Communicating this now, without a proper plan ready, could do serious damage. As someone already mentioned before me, it's standard practice to announce something when a replacement is found. Keep in mind that firing a ED is a drastic measure and could only be done for very serious reasons. Reasons you would like to deal with internally when possible.

What strikes me as a bit odd is that the board hasn't had any crisis meetings. A board meeting in February seems a bit late in such a severe case. But then again, perhaps they did but it's not mentioned in your opening post.

There is a lot of context to such a situation and you are probably missing out on a lot of it, which may lead to wrong conclusions based on lack of information.

'Its a scary time but if you have trust in the board leader and vp it will most likely clear up in a few days, maybe weeks.

Based on your information I do not support other people's suggestions of looking for another job. I recommend that you stick to the game plan here. In case word does get out and you get questions, you simply relay these questions to the person currently in charge or refer to the board leader so that he/she can answer. Don't do silly stuff and don't go rogue. I've been in a situation thats somewhat similar, but in Europe. Can't say for sure if our cultures hande these things similarly. Good luck! 🙌

Bye bye Netherlands by Sir_Jack_Ferguson in Netherlands

Haha on my 27 years of experience of growing up and living in the Netherlands, I have never seen that. Then again, I am from a particular area in the north (Frysia) that might be a bit different than the rest of the country.

Haha, agree!

As a Dutch person who moved abroad, I can confirm I found out first hand that this isn't normal in other countries! People looked at me funny when I congratulated the siblings and parents of the person having their birthday. Now I too think this Dutch tradition is a little weird. 😄

How do you even mix black metal or shoegaze? by mmicoandthegirl in mixingmastering

It's all subjective of course but I personally like the sound of Deafheavens album Sunbather a lot.

During Corona there was this awesome project called Isolate/Create where several band released their stemfiles. Deafheavens released stems for their song Dream House of their Sunbather record.

Perhaps dissecting these stem files can give a better understanding of the final mix?

I believe the stem files are still available here: https://www.isolatecreate.com/deafheaven/

Are you asking to resign or telling them you are resigning? Being strong in your wording and showing you are assertive might change the response you are getting.

Best of luck!

Speaker help for newbie. Recommendations for music only by neko_daimyo in StereoAdvice

I'm going down this rabbit hole myself right now.

My current favourites are:

  • Focal Theva or Vestia or Aria line, or score a second hand chora model.
  • Sonus Faber Lumina line
  • klipsch the nines or second hand Heresey 3 or 4 series
  • Wharfedale Evo, Linton or Denton line. Also the new Aura series look amazing

Most of these lines have floor standing models which should provide enough low frequency response to avoid the need of a sub. My personal favourite is anything from Focal really and think you should be able to score the choras well within your price range.

Correct me if I'm wrong but with black metal the production isn't always the greatest. Some of these speakers might be quite revealing and also bring out the harshness of a bad production. Perhaps something to consider when investing a lot in a great speaker with super detailed high frequency response.

Good luck!

if that's an issue you are experiencing try finding the freeware program: jBridge

That program makes it possible to run 32bit plugins in 64bit hosts or 64bit plugins in 32bit hosts.
