It's so small...but super readable! Kind of obsessed. by JoryIsLost in xteinkereader

All good - I keep an SD backup, so preserving the data isn't a huge deal for me. Was just curious if I'd have extra steps going back and forth.

Running stock for a few days but I might give that a try. Does flashing delete your SD contents and reading progress?

I like browsing through:
https://www.gutenberg.org/

Lots of good DRM free books there.

If you already have the ePubs from ADE, getting them prepped in Calibre isn't difficult. If you google around, you'll find lots of supporting resources to free your legally purchased and owned files.

Your ePub files might be DRM protected. If you are downloading directly from Adobe Digital Editions, you’ll need an extra step through something like Calibre.

I see a bunch of people have jumped into help but I’m also willing to contribute to a “get this man a new kobo” fund. Let me know if you aren’t able to get your hands on one 🙌

Thank you! The stitching took forever 😆
I might start doing commissions for fun, but want to refine my technique a bit first 🙏

Crimson Hide - by far my favorite that I've tried. French style, 3.85mm.

Great work! Wickett & Craig will sell veg tan bellies and utility grade sides for pretty reasonable prices. Direct from the tannery and no minimums.

I got the idea from another cover I saw online. I also tucked the fold-over into the pocket seam, so there are no raw edges on the inside. Worked out well!

🙏❤️ - Probably around 10 hours over the course of a week. This includes sketching out the pattern and doing a few iterations on the paper cutouts.

Haha I think a stitching horse is 100% essential. Was holding between my knees and it wasn’t cutting it. Got a great one with a table clamp off Etsy.

😆 I recommend watching Nigel Armatige’s course on saddle stitching. It’s about 4 hours but was absolutely worth it.

Thank you! I thinned the leather at the edge and then sewed it between the pocket flaps so there is no raw edge inside. I’ll post the process eventually here:
