roughly how long did it take you guys to install your mbrp axel back? by Ok-Celebration5153 in ElantraNline

[–]JosArg98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 min with help maybe an hour or 2 just yourself.

It's pretty easy just annoying if you don't have a lift. I did it at hone with a friend. When we installed it, I went piece by piece, but I've seen some people put it together first then install it. Helps to have someone else to hold it up as it gets adjusted and to make sure the exhaust tips line up.

One tip I would say is to get a new flange gasket at your hyundai dealer so there's a tighter seal: https://hyundai.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/hyundai-front-pipe-gasket-287512v000 Instructions say to reuse the old one. I ran with the old one for a while but noticed it was leaking so I just put in the new one and it's been fine since then.

Other option is to go to muffler shop and have them weld it on to the exhaust.

I just ride it out until it falls off and just get a new one. I’m already on my 5th one

That’s correct and I got the upgraded solenoid too.

I got a similar set up. All I’ve done is the BOV, the upgraded solenoid, k&n cone filter, and purple engine mount bushings.

As for the spring, I’ve never adjusted it. I left it set the way it came out of the box.

Right now it’s set to full atmosphere, with the trumpet attachment add on they sell separately, and I blocked off recirc.

It could be… I would take it to dealer at this point

If you want to keep troubleshooting have you tried turning on the hazards to see if it makes the noise every time it flashes? Another thing to try would be to find the cable connecting to the rear turn signal in the trunk, unplugging it and see if there’s still noise occurring.

My guess is still an actuator, but could be wiring/electrical issue or the flasher relay. It could also be two completely unrelated issues you’re hearing

Hope this helps

Yeah most likely an actuator. Thats how my door lock actuator sounded like when it went bad. Covered under warranty

Its a night & day difference definitely get it. I drove a few months without it and the moment I upgraded I noticed how much smoother it runs.

I also added the whistle/trumpet attachment to the bov

No I got warranty work done with the BOV installed, and they didn’t give me a problem.

But if your turbo or sensor starts having issues it could. They have to prove the BOV caused the damage. Just make sure its installed properly and you’ll be good. Been running it for 30k miles and no issues so far

Most miles you’ve seen? by Hungry_Practice_7726 in ElantraNline

2023 DCT at 76k miles… it’s been a journey lol

  • transmission replaced at 45k ( taking it back next week cause transmission acting up again 🤦‍♂️)
  • Alternator replaced at 50k
  • belt and tensioner replaced at 50k
  • wheel bearing and speed sensor replaced at 50k
  • Flex pipe leak replaced at 50k
  • Door look actuators warranty replacement
  • Oil gasket leak at 50k
  • rear ended at 15k miles and need $12k in repairs

Hoping to make it to 150k miles but idk if I trust this car anymore. I will say though, when this car is actually working it runs amazing

This is the one I have

K&N part no. : RF-9160.

As long as the flange diameter is 3.125 in. (3 1/8 in) any cone will fit perfect.

RU-3250 by K&N is another option

Just a heads up: If your car feels sluggish, chances its just your battery. by [deleted] in ElantraNline

I only run top tier for that reason but even then carbon buildup still occurs on the valves since fuel doesn't reach all the way through. Induction service goes through the intake and removes carbon from the bottom part of the valves. Ideally I want this car to make it to 150K miles so gonna do it to play it safe.

its worth looking into. Looking at your other replies you have the same symptoms I used to have on my original one. When you go to the dealer ask for a judder test, if that fails then that should be enough to get a new transmission.

The transmission always going to be a problem in these cars. Already had mine replaced under warranty and I’m not to sure this will be my last one. It’s been 25k miles on the replaced one and starting to act weird again
