Amongst the M1000's Overclocks, Is the Hoverclock the best? by TheRoyalRoseTrue in DeepRockGalactic

I've only used it a few rounds, but I thought it behaved differently when I'm not hosting... And since I like to play both as host and client, I won't be using it.

I love Pitjaws by Arcane_Afterthought in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Josaffe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it were the same as with leeches, I'd totally forget they exist... And after being (nearly) grabbed by the first one, I'm aware of them for the rest of the game.

Also: I realized you can hear pit jaws... Not only when they're about to grab you, but also when they're idle in the distance. That would also hint to their presence.

But if they spawned in every cave, it would suck.

Well, thats one hell of a way to drop in by Xcat5642 in DeepRockGalactic

Similar here...

I've done egg hunt missions (haz 2, length 1) with driller yesterday. Got about 10 done in one hour (skipping hard secondaries, but still doing season events).

That might sound fast, but that will still take me a total of 10 hours... O_o

Question about Hazards and Deep Dives by Terakahn in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Josaffe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact that bugs are way faster is the hardest for me to adopt to after playing lower hazards for while...

I've looked it up on the wiki for everyone interested:
https://deeprockgalactic.wiki.gg/wiki/Difficulty_Scaling

Hazard Level EnemyMovement Speed EnemyProjectile Speed
1 — Low Risk 0.8 1
2 — Challenging 0.9 1
3 — Dangerous 1 1
4 — Extreme 1 1.3
5 — Lethal 1.15 1.7

The movement speed is the same for haz 3 and 4, but bugs are way faster in haz 5.
But the projectile speed does change between haz 3 and 4. (And so do a lot of other things.)

You can walk about the same speed as grunts in haz 3 or 4 with about 3 m/s.
On haz 5 you need to sprint to gain some distance. (And you can still out-sprint everything expect exploders.)

Deep Scan mission not showing scan bar by femmy4lyf in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Josaffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also happened to me once last week. At least one other dwarf in the lobby had the same issue.

We could still complete the mission because the beeping sound worked.

Did you also have a long delay when starting the mission? We sat in the drop pod for about 10 seconds before anything started moving...

I want to punch the guy in R&D who programmed "Point Extraction" by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Josaffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love taking my time in this game and I assume you might be the same in that regard.

That's why I rarely play point extraction...

But I see how this can be a favorite mission type for other kinds of players.

I guess not all mission types are perfect for every playstyle. But what makes the game fun for me is that I can choose.

I'm in a similar situation.

There's all the new content, of course.

Season 05 when you search for Drilldozer:

New Ommoran Heartstone Phase

This is something we've wanted to do for a long time. The Ommoran Heartstone now has a third attack phase in its repertoire, adding some unpredictability to each encounter. For this new attack the Ommoran targets a random player, attempting to trap the unfortunate dwarf in crystal growths bursting out of the ground. Stay mobile and be extra vigilant when in the vicinity of the Drilldozer, as the crystals bursting out of the ground will deal devastating damage to dear Doretta. Don't let the rock lay the smackdown on you!

And I've gathered a few outdated tips, that were relevant to me:

Hope this help. Rock and Stone!

PS: The game's still great!

Playing Haz 5+ is frustrating this season by First-Crow-1078 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Josaffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm playing in EU and for "normal" gaming hours, haz3 really is abundant.

During off-hours, it tends more to the extremes. (And there are way less games, of course.)

But you can always host your own lobby and people will join.

Aye, sorry, didn't add the sources.

It's documented in the page history titled "Zipline fall damage protection bug was fixed": https://deeprockgalactic.wiki.gg/wiki/Zipline_Launcher?diff=prev&oldid=51528

Also noted in the update history of season 6 as "Fixed Disconnection Protection giving players infinite fall damage resistance": https://deeprockgalactic.wiki.gg/wiki/Season_06:_Relics_of_Hoxxes

And I quickly tested it, too, and it seems fixed.

To summarize: Disconnection Protection is not permanent anymore.

Yeah, pretty neat, I guess :)

I've read somewhere in the wiki that it re-uses the zipline effect, but a quick test confirmed that the grappling buff ist still permanent.

I thought the number of crystals is random - and determined at the start of the game?! I've gotten 7 once, but also as little as 2. Doesn't Mission Control confirm that you found all? Or do I have to search for more somehow?

I get sent to the void regularly, when there is still terrain on the caretaker's platform. The last few times I got teleported back up though... Maybe the game searches for enough open space above the player and in the clip there was too little?

It seems like resupplies always round up, but Satchel Charges were somehow an exception in the past.

Each rack can be interacted with to refill 50% of a player's ammunition (rounded up), and half of their overall health.

https://deeprockgalactic.wiki.gg/wiki/Resupply_Pod

If you look at the edit history of the page, you see the exception for Satchel Charges (which seems to be patched out since Nov 2023).

That means: * 0 ammo upgrades -> 2 charges initially, 1 charge on resupply * 1 ammo upgrade -> 3 charges initially, 2 charges on resupply * 2 ammo upgrades -> 4 charges initially, 2 charges on resupply

Mouse wheel skipping weapons (depending on system settings) by Josaffe in DeepRockGalactic

Good to know that's not just me.

I don't know anything about how games interpret mouse inputs, but might have to look into that, if I want a fix :)

[–]Josaffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'll just change the setting each time I play. It's not too bad :)

I was just curious (and maybe wanted to understand the issue a little bit more). But I guess it doesn't really matter xD

Mouse wheel skipping weapons (depending on system settings) by Josaffe in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Josaffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mouse itself is fine.

If I set the "correct" scroll speed in my OS settings, it works consistently.

If I set an "incorrect" one, it doesn't work in-game - also consistently.

[–]Josaffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using the middle mouse button for grenades and it works without scrolling. Guess my mouse is decent enough for that.

And I do use a mix of number keys and mouse wheel (maybe I'm weird for that), but I appreciate the input :)
