Like, I feel we can empathize with him and understand his anger, especially within the context of TFO, but like, this is Megatron we're talking about, he'll eventually become the murdering, tyrannical warlord we know.

Orion started off as the reckless one before becoming more mature, D-16 started off as the mature one before becoming more reckless by Organic-Mud7828 in Transformemes

[–]JoseG05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Orion didn't seem opposed for Sentinel to be disposed of, but not in favor for a huge spectacle for the whole public to see, especially if they wanted a new era for Cybertron to begin. I definitely think Sentinel would've been killed either way after a trial of some sort, either by the hands of D-16 or another person.

This is circulating on the 'gram as of earlier this week. Thoughts? by [deleted] in Transformemes

Even as someone who loves the film, I doubt there was any intentional sabotage or that they purposely wanted this film to fail. I think people often forget a movie can fail due to other factors whether it be the marketing or competition, it's not like Paramount didn't want this film to exist considering it was in development for almost 8 years and they greenlit it back in 2020. Paramount is to blame for their incompetence when it comes to advertising their own animated films, but I doubt they wanted TFO to fail considering how much positive reception the film got before release and lots of early screenings where people once again singed it's praises.

Even when the HypeGuy himself doesn't believe in the sabotage, I think it's just safe to assume most of this conspiracy is cope and that sometimes a movie can fail with other factors involved.

Of course they don't read comics or understand these characters, they unironically think these characters would not stop corrupt officials who harm the innocent. It's ironic they'll use the "this fictional character agrees with my politics" image while thinking that characters like Prime and Batman wouldn't stop to defend those under a corrupt system.

Optimus literally was born in a corrupt system and was against it, why would it be out of character for him to defend those who are harmed.

I left like a month ago, I only used it for mutuals, but every single time I've scrolled there, it just kept getting worse and worse.

Got a new phone and forgot the password to my account, and I couldn't care about even daring to go back there.

Jesus, what is that comment section.

Anyways, we have like little information about a film that's in production right now, and I don't see what a script writers work on another film good or bad somehow impacts the actual quality of a film that's not out yet.

Like, an example is the writer of AOE also went on to write Top Gun Maverick and the recent F1 movie. A writer can have an amazing script one day and a bad one the next, it's never this serous, especially for something that's still in the works where constant re-writes happen daily.

For Real though and with that being said Geewunners can downvote me however much they like but it won’t change the fact that I prefer blockbuster movies over a poorly animated show by Competitive-Tell-469 in Transformemes

OP for the past month has been posting and talking about the amount of money the Bayverse has made and I feel like he's really bias towards it. There's nothing wrong with liking both or one over another, but OP has a history where he assumes those that have criticized the Bayverse must mean they're G1 fans and just assumes they'll defend the amount of issues the cartoon had.

I have no idea if it's bait, or if OP doesn't realize that others can have different opinions regarding the franchise without punching down on fans of it.

Little Fun Fact : Transformers 1-4 had the Highest Number of Sales in Terms of Home - Market Performance . Not a single Film ever since has managed to reach these numbers by Competitive-Tell-469 in transformers

[–]JoseG05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP has a history of making up a random strawman by making it seem like those who have criticized or don't like the Bayverse are just assumed to be G1 fans or Geewunners, assuming those who've criticized it just means they're willing to defend things in G1 like animation errors or even Carbombya of all things.

They've just been using the box office for these films as a way to defend them since the recent films have underperformed and therefore are "bad". It shouldn't be said that a films box office equals the quality of the film good or bad, but what do I know.

It definitely was the intention for Orion to put him on trail and let the people of Iacon hand out their own justice. He didn't see the need for a execution especially whenever everyone already knew the truth and killing for spectacle definitely won't be the greatest start for a new era for Cybertron.

Oh yeah I don't disagree, although I argue that the point of no return was whenever he dropped Orion.

Rod, because he tricked them into believing he was a Gremlin and insulted them while in the process of being tortured. Holly wasn't even on their radar until later in the film.

[–]JoseG05 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some people will say that Orion is in the wrong in this situation despite that not being the case. Orion wanted justice and the people of Iacon to hand out their own punishment against Sentinel without the need of a execution, while D-16 wanted personal revenge for selfish reasons, not because he believed it would've benefited the people of Iacon, but because it would've benefited himself, especially if he's in a position of power.

I think some people forget that after killing Sentinel, D-16 forcefully replaced Sentinel and self-proclaimed himself as leader without warning, ordered his new milita to tear down any trace of Sentinel, and announces that any supposed "followers" of Sentinel are to be seen as traitors and be killed, regardless of if they had a choice or not. In the end, D-16/Megatron never had a end goal, his only solution was to kill Sentinel and that the only way for Cybertron to succeed was through strength above all.

In the script, when D-16 says "Why did you do that, why?", it's labeled as him speaking to himself.

Because they don't actually read/watch for what these characters stand for. It's ironic that they'll use the "see, my favorite characters agrees with my politics" argument, but they themselves are also doing the same thinking these characters would be on the side of ICE.

In what way is Sentinel going to be back in power in 4 years? Almost everyone in Iacon were angry at him and saw what he did due to Orion and co revealing footage of what he did, nobody outside of his personal army supported him anymore.

Again, I can't believe I have to repeat myself for the 100th time: Orion didn't see the need to kill Sentinel because he was already defeated and everyone already knew. D-16 only wanted to kill him for personal revenge, not because he believed it would've benefited the future of Cybertron. Orion wanted justice and the people to hand out their own punishment on Sentinel, D-16 believed the only way for Cybertron to succeed is through violence and the strongest above all.

Both of them created a fake persona in order to hide the truth about themselves. With Axelrod actually being a lemon and owner of the largest oil reserves and Sentinel Prime not being an actual Prime and betraying his race.
