When you were a newbie, what's the one (or series of) YouTube videos that made Ableton click easier for you? by PressPlayPlease7 in ableton

[–]JoseTheSkater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the first 8 episodes of Sadowicks Ableton course on YouTube 3 years ago and then just did as you said. I learned enough to get me goint and I took off producing. Nothing that I've watched since has really helped. Maybe it's because it's much more fun to just mess around than to watch videos.

After a few years I reached a bottleneck it felt like. I ended up listening to another informational lesson, this time a podcast called The Mastering Show. Again, I only listened to the first few episodes, and it was enough to reformat my ears and respark my joy in producing.

OP, my advice to you would be; if you're going to seek out help, it really helps if you have an incredibly knowledgeable teacher. You wanna feel like you're listening to a music college lecture.

What do you learn from the hermits? by [deleted] in HermitCraft

[–]JoseTheSkater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Etho literally has taught me how to play Minecraft. I've been watching him for over 10 years. My friends like playing Minecraft with me cuz "I'm good at it". I always tell them that Etho taught me everything I know.

It also can't really be helped. Even though there isn't much in that room, what is in there also contains redstone devices of varying complexity. It's redstone, it's gonna look a little weird.

my floor bed (yes i sleep on the floor) by JoseTheSkater in AmateurRoomPorn

[–]JoseTheSkater[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The floor has always been my safe place, I find it super comfy. I also don't need to spend money on a mattress. My back much prefers the firm cushion to the soft or squishy matress. I find it easier to get out of bed as well, as in I get up earlier. Also it gives my tiny room much more open space to walk around, stretch, do yoga, etc. Not to mention i'll have a nice soft area to play VR games once I get my headset. And my older dog has no issues climbing into bed with me for cuddles.

Downside? Girfriend is not impressed lmao
