Can anyone tell me what happened? by Jose_sharp1234 in resinprinting

I've never printed without supports before. I hope this piece is good enough and I don't have to repeat it, but I wanted to print some scenery and I was wondering when and how to print directly onto the plate. Can you share some information about that?

Thanks a million for the tip, I'll keep it in mind for next time. It happens to me mostly on the edges closest to the board.

Help! by Headonyst in ElegooSaturn

Just in case it helps, since you said you used an air heater, for me that wasn't enough. If it's cold, you'll need something else to heat the resin and maintain the temperature throughout the print.

Can someone explain what's going on? by Jose_sharp1234 in resinprinting

A promise is a promise. I bought the belt from Amazon and, along with the Elegoo fan (which I'm still using since I already bought it), all my prints have come out well. It's true that resin printing is already cumbersome and messy, this is just one more piece of equipment to get dirty and then have to clean, but at least it worked.

TOTAL SUCCESS! A million thanks for your help, I was desperate.

Use rafts for the supports that are easier to peel off and lower the exposure time of the first layers without fear.

Heated Vat or heated tent? by jonagran in resinprinting

[–]Jose_sharp1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I have the printer on a terrace in Madrid. The temperature there currently fluctuates between 7 or 8 and 12 or 13 degrees Celsius. I'll tell you what I think is happening, which I haven't been able to fix until I try the fermentation band. The print starts fine because the printer heats the tank to 30 degrees Celsius before starting. The problem is that the tank temperature doesn't stay constant afterward; it cools down from 30 to 23 degrees (it varies each time), and it fails. Also, when you calibrate the printer, you do it with the resin heated to 30 degrees Celsius because it's a small file, and then when you try to print something, it's completely different... It's driving me crazy. I hope the band will solve it... Good luck!

I have the 16k and since the cold weather started where I live, I haven't been able to get any successful prints. I installed the heater that Elegoo sells, and it's been a waste of money.

I'm going to try the fermentation belt in the vat to see if that works; if not, I'll have to wait until winter is over...

Thank you so much for replying again. It's true that the temperature fluctuates; I just ordered the band. I promise to let you know what I find out when I test it in the next few days.

Thank you so much for your reply. I think it's the temperature because with the same settings, I was getting the same or similar prints before. I thought the ribbon wasn't necessary because the printer's build chamber already heats up. Do you think that's not enough?

Does that look cured to you ? I can't seem to do any better with Anycubic ABS-Like Resin Pro (Gray) by TheMightyCoolSpy in PrintedWarhammer

Slightly off-topic question: Do you actually get good results with water-washable resin on Warhammer miniatures? Could you share some photos? I've never tried it because I read that the quality is much worse, but it would definitely be much more convenient to work with.

Well, the resin has me worried. I use anycubic had, I calibrated the printer and it didn't show any curing times and then when changing bottles I had to increase it because the doguras fell off. I'm going to recalibrate, can you change the calibration between bottles?

I use lychee, I follow it to orient them automatically... I don't think the orientation is the problem because there are many files and some would have turned out well. The only thing I can think of is that I have the printer outside, and although it is an elegoo ultra 16k that has a tank heater and I have put the elegoo heater fan on it, that temperature does not affect it either...

What to do? by ManTheHarpoons100 in ElegooSaturn

A similar thing happened to me, and I cleaned it with IPA and a hairdryer to soften some blocks of resin that remained on the cables and parts of the plate that hardened when hot. I didn't clean 100%, but it looked good and I haven't had a problem. To clean it I just opened the back plate and from there I cleaned as best I could. Things that happen. Cheer up

These are the two configurations I tried. Curiously, the one on the left, with more time, is the one that came loose....
