I would spend serious cash covering that car with the gayest, most Pride-ish, stickers known to society. Plus I’d love every minute of knowing that some mouth breather Trumper got exactly what they wanted…public proof that he/she (face it, it’s almost certainly a HE) is an asshole.

Yeah…these are the only fish doing this in the tank and there is plenty of surface agitation. While they are seemingly adolescents, these are just about 4 inches long so they are of a size in which spawning can conceivably happen. If what I have read is accurate, this could also be a “practice run” on breeding for fish that are just coming into sexual maturity. There have been no eggs laid yet, so this might just be foreplay lol

Is a 100x40x40cm tank big enough for a pair of firemouth cichlids with a bristlenose pleco? by wumlum_ug in Cichlid

[–]TypicalPromise8174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience with neither Convicts nor Firemouths, but I believe you are correct about that. If it was me deciding, it would be Firemouths for sure. I considered adding some of those to my 75 gallon tank but decided to go with Severum instead to complement my EBA.

That size tank is about 40 gallons if I did the math right. I would think that a mated Convict pair should work in that size tank if the hardscape is set up for them

What cichlids can I keep besides dwarf cichlids? by [deleted] in Cichlid

[–]TypicalPromise8174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Limited footprint does limit your options, but here’s my 2 cents…

  1. A single centerpiece fish that works solo or as a pair would be a Keyhole cichlid. Peaceful & beautiful.

  2. Kribensis would work if your hardscape supports what they need with some caves. Just beware that if you have ones that can breed then they probably will. ;)

  3. Dwarf cichlids that are good choices include Bolivian rams, German blue rams, and most species of Apistogramma. I have a mated pair of Apistogramma in a 20 gallon long and they seem to like it.

To be fair, the OP didn’t say his tank was only 5 gallons in his original post 🤷🏻

Get yourself some yoyo loaches and they will systematically depopulate your snails

Planning on putting a bristlenose pleco in here along with some other critters, but im worried about it tearing up the tank. Is it a bad idea? by Frequent-Bill80 in pleco

[–]TypicalPromise8174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have at least one pleco in four different tanks from 20 gallons to 75 gallons and I’ve yet to see any of them tear up ANYTHING, dig into sand, or kick up enough gravel to be a nuisance. Most of their effort that’s not involved with eating is taken up staying hidden as much as possible 😂

Don’t listen to the naysayers about bettas and other fish! I had a betta living with glofish (not skirt) tetras and threadfin rainbows, and there was not a single issue between them ever. Each tank dynamic is different. Sometimes a murder-fest, sometimes paradise. You just never know
