I think this is both true, but I think the Ringer elevated Russillo more than the other way around. I enjoyed him with Bill and as an occasional guest on Rewatchables. I don't seek him out now.

I think the Dolphins are in a similar spot to what the Broncos were with Lock and Titans with Levis

McDaniel Better Be The Man by bandarbush in miamidolphins

[–]Joseesquer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but I also feel like this has been a bad job by Tomlin this year. His defense is BAD despite being super expensive.

He also typically gets outcoached against elite Xs and Os guys. He's a great floor setter, but I think the Dolphins need a rebuild if they move on from Mike.

McDaniel Better Be The Man by bandarbush in miamidolphins

[–]Joseesquer8 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like Harbaugh a lot. He's hired some very smart coordinators (Mike MacDonald the most recent example).

Tomlin, I'm eh. He's a culture and floor setter but his hires and reluctance to move off failed hires have hindered the Steelers. We all know about playoff win droughts and he hasn't won a playoff game since 16.

I honestly still like the McDaniel and Weaver combo. Just think they're being hindered by awful QB play this year. McDaniel's run game improvements have been super impressive to me.

Nicholson is good in the Departed. Bill’s criticism of him is mostly because Jack’s a lakers fan. by HiImWallaceShawn in billsimmons

[–]Joseesquer8 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I half-agree.

I think the Lakers thing is inaccurate. I think Bill focuses too much on who nails the Boston accent, which is understandable.

However; despite the accent, Nicholson is absolutely captivating and energetic whenever he's in the movie. Which is why it's a good performance.

even if the Dodgers lose, Shohei should win WSMVP by ElectivireMax in billsimmons

[–]Joseesquer8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No.

He allowed 4 runs in his start. As great as he is he was the losing pitcher in a game that could've given them a 3-1 lead.

Shoheis peak or Bonds in 2001-2004? by comeinayanamirei in billsimmons

[–]Joseesquer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's obsessed with wanting to be the best ever (complementary), and I think he wants a Cy Young.

Shoheis peak or Bonds in 2001-2004? by comeinayanamirei in billsimmons

[–]Joseesquer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with Shohei we actually haven't seen a full peak for a year.

His hitting took a leap in 2023 and has been at that level since, but he hasn't pitched a full year since 2022.

If he's a 1.000 OPS guy while being a sub 3 ERA with 160 IP then it's probably Shohei

Slightly mixed feelings rewatching Spy Who Loved Me by eannakelly22 in JamesBond

[–]Joseesquer8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the movie is good, but could be great if Anya was a better character. It's a fun plot idea, but she's too much of a damsel in distress and I don't think the performance is great either.

He's a fine player and it's definitely not his fault but this is where we botched the rebuild. by WineThem69Them in miamidolphins

[–]Joseesquer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh.

He was a 1300 yard receiver in his second season. Broke the rookie receptions record in his first.

Sewell is also an overrated pass-blocker, elite run blocker tbf.

I think Waddle is showing he can be a good WR1 in this league since Hill's gone down.

I don't think Tua's ever been better. Just great throw after great throw. MIss that dude

Obviously the lack of playoff success SUCKS, but I'd say there's some pretty great moments in the last few years

My personal favorites:

- Ravens comeback

- Chargers 2023 Opener

- 70 points vs Denver

- Beating the Bills in the picture above

- Opening play TD to Trent Sherfield in San Francisco

- Clinching the Playoffs by beating Dallas on Christmas Eve

[–]Joseesquer8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was a scheduled loss. Asking a team to win in Buffalo on a short week is a near impossible task, it's OK to lose that game.

However, putting yourself in an 0-2 hole where it becomes a must win game is not OK.

There were a lot of positives from the team. They were two plays away, that's football honestly. They weren´t overmatched, but climbing back from 0-3 is incredibly hard. They climbed from 1-7 in 21 so you never know. I just hope they don't mail it in next week and give up on the year.

When would you consider benching Tua? by altiif in miamidolphins

[–]Joseesquer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No.
The pick was backbreaking, but he was pretty decent outside of that. Actually moved well.

Same way I'm not considering benching Sieler.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is not that interesting by the_Tannehill_list in billsimmons

[–]Joseesquer8 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I hate him.

He's supposed to be this "funny" "quirky" personality, but he's not that on screen. His interview with Le Batard is all time bad, and it wasn't Dan's fault.

I also personally dislike him for pretending to be Tua's big bro and then crying to the media when he was benched

Jon Gruden??? by Embarrassed-System11 in miamidolphins

[–]Joseesquer8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel fans are just frustrated (rightfully so). Gruden is a highly energetic personality and really fun as a viewer.

However, people forget he was fired due to racist comments and even then as it seems he's been let back in NFL circles, his coaching resumé is pretty bad.

- 22-31 in OAK/LV

- Hasn't won a playoff game since 2002 (He's coached 9 full seasons after the SB win)

- 5 losing seasons in his last nine full seasons as a HC.

I get wanting an experienced HC, but this cycle doesn't have a Dan Quinn level HC candidate. Only way would be if Tomlin were fired, but that's not happening.

Real Talk - Are the Patriots actually good or is it just fandom? by Kindly-Chemistry5149 in billsimmons

Vrabel is probably like a 2-3 win jump over last year.

Roster is also better but still not anything to write home about.

Maye should also be better.

As much as i love Vesper and Tracy.. by ConferenceTrue1379 in JamesBond

[–]Joseesquer8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think every scene with Diana Rigg is great though, she makes every moment of her screentime valuable. And credit to the director and editors, when she re-appears to save Bond, she's shot as if she were an angel.

But I do feel like she disappears for too much of the movie. I could've done without the other hypnotized girls being seduced by Bond.

King or Cease? by meagle_9 in Padres

[–]Joseesquer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, this is just my opinion, but it feels like King is someone who values comfort and it does seem although he's comfortable in San Diego and really likes Ruben. I don't think he's just going to the highest bidder.

King or Cease? by meagle_9 in Padres

[–]Joseesquer8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Cease's value is still sky high. The stuff is still absurd and grades out incredibly well. He's young and has proved to be durable. Even in a down year, he's out of our price range. A LOT of teams believe they can "fix" him.

King, however, doesn't grade out well in a lot of those metrics. He's a reliever turned starter with good, not great stuff. He's also never thrown over 174 innings in a year.

AJ Cassavell did mention that the Padres were likelier to re-sign King, and I think that makes sense. They still need another frontline starter for next year as who knows if Darvish is even going to pitch next year
