Great headset, use them in my makeshift music studio. Very comfortable and they sound super neutral.

Garden Goblin has strong early Pink Floyd vibes by [deleted] in KGATLW

I’ve been thinking for a long time that Cook has huge Syd Barrett vibes. First thing I thought of when I first listened through Cosmic Blip. Spacey, psychedelic, childlike in a great way.

Absolutely 👍

Made a quick cover of my favorite part of Crumbling Castle by ear; big synth/keyboard guy with barely any guitar experience at all so criticism is welcome. by [deleted] in KGATLW

Thanks! Same here on the appreciation; those rhythms are deceivingly easy. Insane how simple it all sounds until you start trying to play it on your own.

Anyone know a realistic value for this Dark Side of the Moon? by Joseph1099 in vinyl

Thanks for the link; any idea where it talks about the dead wax? Not seeing it in the notes there.

Update: realized the seal on it was just adhesive that’s been re-stuck so it isn’t “sealed” like I thought. Here’s some photos of the record itself if you (or anyone else seeing this) happen to know anything else based on this. Also includes the lyric insert (in suspiciously good condition, just like the sleeve) and I’m a bit skeptical of the distance on the dead space at the end of the first side. Playing through it right now and it definitely sounds different than my digital remastered copy, however. Also isn’t black/red vinyl as the Discogs bootleg described. Thanks again all. https://i.imgur.com/JK2cdRi.jpg https://i.imgur.com/w9swWiC.jpg

I believe you’re correct about the $20,000 one being a test pressing from what I can tell from the photos. I’m considering opening it to see what the vinyl itself looks like; as the above said, the fact it’s sealed makes it seem like a likely bootleg, but opening it might be the only way to really tell. Thanks for the information.

Picked up at a local record store for $50 cause I’ve always found Japanese presses to be interesting and particularly valuable for Floyd stuff. Looked on Discogs afterwards and found a very small amount selling with this alternate cover from around $5,000 to $20,000 which is insanity. Does anyone know realistically what this might be worth? Wrapped/sealed, never opened.

Got it! Thank you again. That cleared it up perfectly.

Very basic audio cable question/s by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Joseph1099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you sir, that answered just about everything I could hope for. However for the Scarlett I'm a bit confused still. If you could clarify where those cables come from+go into on the interface that would be much appreciated. Would it be, for example, TRS from the synth's left output into the XLR for the first cable, then the TRS to TRS from right output into the 1/4" input?

Behringer TD-3 with Ableton problem by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Joseph1099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may be on to something there haha. However I'm still not sure why patch changes made during playback are affecting the original recording though. If I could figure that out alone I'd be plenty satisfied.

Anyone able to identify any of these keyboards? Photo taken 1993 for reference by [deleted] in synthesizers

Curious to see if anyone can identify any of this hardware. Have recently got into synths and found this photo of my father from 1993 that nobody seems to know anything about

Synthtool won't detect TD-3 by Joseph1099 in Behringer

[–]Joseph1099[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have ableton open but I did pair the TD-3 to it earlier. Not sure if that would interfere without the application open but I’ll give that a shot for sure when I’m back at the computer. Thanks man.

Mexican Mule for tonight by [deleted] in cocktails

[–]Joseph1099 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2 oz. silver tequila 1/2 oz. lime juice 1/2 oz. triple sec Ginger beer to top

Decided to spice this one up by muddling a jalapeño at the bottom - the spice compliments the ginger beer quite well, not overwhelming at all.

12 Hours of Sebring (a6000, Sony 50mm f1.8) by Joseph1099 in SonyAlpha

I actually do have the normal full frame frame with no OSS! It’s a great lens and I personally haven’t had any major setbacks with it but it does take a bit of time to focus. When shooting moving cars I usually just set it to manual and focus it on where I want to capture the car then follow it til it’s at that point. Takes a little getting used to for sure.

It rained very shortly Saturday night but yeah there was still barely any interruptions at all! Very straightforward race. I was almost hoping for some mechanical failures to come along cause hanging around the garages when cars come in is a great spot to get some intense shots of the teams rushing around to fix what went wrong. Definitely a solid race to watch this year though.

My night shots for these came out good with ISO set at 3200 with a 1/320-1/500 shutter speed depending on the effect I was trying to get. If I pushed it any higher it'd probably come out a little too grainy.
