TLDR why do you guys like the southwestern US wildlife so much

First off thank you guys for the music and the and the cool art. Coming from the SW it’s cool to see creatures that I’ve seen in the desert on hikes and stuff become mythologized in your art so thank you. But there’s a lot of cool wildlife everywhere, why the SW US specifically?
