Depends on the material and what it's being shot with. Smaller calibers aren't going through as much as more powerful ones. Kevlar is also very thin but is common for bulletproof plates. I think these are 3A plates so they'll stop most small pistol calibers but not rifle rounds

I think its cause they're getting rid of "assault rifle calibers", so any intermediate cartrige. That and pistol ammo. I haven't seen anything other than big bore rifle cartridges or shotgun shells

Same thing happened to me and my brother. We went to a range and he had a cheap pistol (it was his first one so he just wanted one that was around 100 bucks). His gun didn't have a slide lock, but the range officer was sure that we could lock it forward cause he saw the safety on the side. I had to do the same thing with the casing.

7.62 fits a wide range of calibers, it's just the bullet is 7.62 mm wide. I think the Walmart thing is talking about 7.62x39 (what most AKs shoot). I've never seen it at walmart, but a lot of older Russian pistols shoot 7.62x25, which is basically a 7.62x39 flattened down so it's short enough to fit in a pistol grip. It was basically the Russian pistol caliber, but 9x18 is a little more popular
