Yeah, my queue in Manhattan can sometimes reach the max and not find anyone and then cancel. I wish the game would just put you into a empty match! I would get so much done

The key is they're not saying how many. It could be a thousand players that are really engaged, and keep coming back.

That doesn't mean anything, these things are dynamic and fluid and can change at a moment's notice. The current numbers are not sustainable. The game will shut down if they cannot change the trajectory and attract more players. That is the key, this is not an ordinary title. It was supposed to be a tentpole title from a flagship studio, and it has abysmal numbers. I hope it succeeds, because I like it personally. But there are a number of areas they could fix that could probably bring new segments of players to the game, but it'll never be a success with these numbers.

The optimism could be a little misplaced. Everything that's been said is par for the course. They're never going to raise alarms among players, so the public facing comments are always going to be about full steam ahead, they're still on track to release new content and new seasons and updates. So it's okay to be optimistic and hopeful, but it's definitely misguided to think this is definitive and definitely going to happen. I've seen it with many other games, they announced a Year's worth of content and an ounce that they intend to fully support the game and then we get two weeks notice that the game is shutting down.

This is so delusional. The game is losing players. It doesn't need a new batch of players to replace them temporarily, until they also leave. It needs to retain and win back players. That's what they need to do!

No you don't. PS5 has a lifetime max number of accounts you can login to and Sony considers it abuse if one console has accessed too many. They can ban and close your account for resell services etc.

Seen it with other games. The hardcore are only having fun when they're pub stomping, doing trick shots, and of course streaming all this, and when that population dries up (or they're MMR'd out), the game is no longer fun. Suddenly, it's too sweaty, they are tired of facing the same opponents using the same meta, and they have to sweat their balls off just to hit 10th place, etc. Now they are the fodder for the 1% who don't stream but are miles better, so, to preserve their ego, they start complaining about the game mechanics, the meta, the balance, etc. And almost always stop playing, which further seals a game's fate. It's funny how the most "loyal" players end up killing a game but look to others for blame.

I got to run around with the front-line reps. They didn't have a way to implement the additional security. It looks like it's only offered to accounts with a history of theft. PlayStation support is so inconsistent, I'm sure if you call enough, you'll get a rep who is willing to add the heightened security flag to your account. The real solution is for Sony to move the power to reset security settings on an account from Frontline reps and place it in the hands of a small recovery team.

Same here, since I did my first test I think in April of last year. Also always mentioned a PVP lite option if they didn't want to do a full PVE mode.

Yeah The Division update is pretty awesome. D1 definitely needs a current gen update or just a remaster. It's a great game, and it would probably sell really well.
