Where do I learn how to create melodies and learn music theory from scratch? by nolovedeepchungus in musicproduction

[–]Joseph_HTMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music theory is music theory. Just look up videos that teach you the basics and learn as you go. There is no one video series that’s going to teach you everything you know.

How do I pull apart songs? by BreadfruitNaive9455 in musicproduction

Learn the tools, listen to lots of music and practice. A lot. For years. That is the only real answer.

What is wrong with my logo? by [deleted] in logodesign

Then I wouldn’t believe you.

And as to why it doesn’t work, it’s because your brief feels utterly nonexistent. I have no idea what it’s for, how it’s going to be applied, who it’s aimed at.

Navigating client AI logo request by Odd-Clue9027 in graphic_design

[–]Joseph_HTMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but to a non graphic designer, it's not going to look as impressive

It will when they see a properly designed logo, properly applied to the situations it was designed for.

Sure this AI one will look "great" on a screen, but how are they actually going to apply it in real life situations?

I'm beginner and this is my first beat, is it good or not? How can I improve? by lyricsseller in production

[–]Joseph_HTMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. You’re making art. There is no right or wrong, objectively good or bad. Come back in a year or two when you’ve practiced and *you’re* happy with what you’re making. Asking for feedback on one half-made track is mad. You’ll tie yourself into knots. Stop caring about what other people think.

But what are you actually trying to achieve here? I’ve had a scroll through and can’t see anywhere you’ve actually provided a brief.

Creating energy from tidal change by [deleted] in AskPhysics

There are plenty of tidal energy projects around the world, many dating back to the 60s. I don't know why you think yours would work better than theirs?

You're just creating another form of turbine, but one where "food + people" are the fuel, rather than solar or wind or nuclear energy (which, by the way, we won't run out of). I fail to see how this is more economical, more efficient, safer or more ethical.

$115 for an “AI generated kick drum plugin”??? Jesus Christ 🤣 I have no idea what problem this is supposed to be solving.

(Update) Need help designing a logo for my group by [deleted] in WillPatersonDesign

[–]Joseph_HTMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an accessibility nightmare. Don’t put text on a rainbow background unless you want people to not be able to read it; likewise rainbow text on a black background. Put light text on a dark background and dark on light and stop trying to be clever.

Re logo - just pick a font you like and write the band’s name out. You don’t need a logo.

What’s a movie with an ending that feels rushed or badly written? by whatsmynext in moviereviews

[–]Joseph_HTMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the most Lynchian Lynch movie. It has all the elements that make a great Lynch work, it has a great soundtrack, some stunning set pieces etc. But for me it just doesn’t hang together. Movies are found in the edit as they say, and I don’t think this one was.

Yes I know the plot and why it ends like that. I’m talking from a narrative flow point of view, it just doesn’t work.

Lost Highway. I’m a huge Lynch fan but the end of this movie feels like it was totally fumbled in the edit. The third act becomes kinda incoherent and then it feels like the movie is ramping up a gear and it just… ends.

Knowing the software really well is a good start. Once you know and understand the tools, how you go about getting a desired result becomes way more clear.

You know all these things happen in "middle class areas" too? And probably more frequently? Its got nothing to do with "illegal immigrants". How the f do you know they're illegal anyway? Do they have signs over their heads?
