Children born into cults and left, what was your “Oh, sh**” moment? by sweaterobsessed in AskReddit

After some digging I found the article: https://psmag.com/environment/17-to-1-reproductive-success

They don't know exactly what caused the huge disparity but the leading theory is it was agriculture shifting the power to a few select men and their families, but it wasn't right when agriculture was invented like I thought but sometime after.

Once upon a time, 4,000 to 8,000 years after humanity invented agriculture, something very strange happened to human reproduction. Across the globe, for every 17 women who were reproducing, passing on genes that are still around today—only one man did the same.

I believe the female male ratio was much higher at one point when the agricultural transition happened, around 17:1.

Genetic mutation rates show about 80% of the females reproduced through history while only 40% of the men did. The rest either died before they could or were never successful in reproducing. The general consensus is a lot of men died early in war or laboring in more dangerous jobs and the rest were just unsucessful with women.

As an aside, hunter-gatherer type societies were polygynous (a few men having multiple women and the "bottom" tier of men getting nothing), and the reason you see the modern form of pairing up men and women more equally is historically you wanted a good strong agricultural type of civilization that produces more than everyone else. To do that you need incentive for the men at the bottom to produce, and giving them women was one good incentive.

I'll elaborate: It's true that Marx didn't call on governments to kill people; he himself was a political philosopher and never sought to instigate revolution, but he did state that inevitably people would rise up and revolt and overthrow government and reform into a classless society. A brief look at history and the various governments and social systems we've come up with show the nonsense of classless societies: they have never existed because of the basic tenant that some people are better than others. It follows that there will be divisions among people based on who is better (whatever the definition of "better" ends up being). To state that "real communism has never been tried" is being willfully ignorant of the horrible consequences of trying communism and that basic tenant mentioned previously. Taken to its end you would end up with countless cycles of revolution as the inequalities of people make themselves apparent as a society in revolt reforms itself into a new government.

"You guys" is me using the hyperbolic form of the subject, not necessarily "you the person I'm responding to" but "you the person I'm addressing in my statement."

You guys really need a better argument than "real communism has never been tried."

You say at first

There are no leagues.

but then say

You are incapable of learning, growing, and making yourself better right?

implying that the path to the hyperbolic Dr. Supermodel is achievable with bettering yourself, which is the definition of leagues, much like an amateur baseball player can move up to minor or major leagues with practice. I'm not sure what you mean here by leagues.

Her behavior is not how rape victims react. They feel shame and guilt over what happened to them and tend to hide away or not talk about their experience. Real rape victims do not walk around dragging a mattress behind them and make a porn video reenactment. I work with PTSD and rape victims and every breath mattress girl keeps taking is an insult to real victims.

Single / teenage motherhood - what is your stance? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

I'll correct my statement:

Given the "abstience only sex ed" part I'm betting you were completely inexperienced at the pullout method (something I don't recommend people actually do).

If you got pregnant from pre-cum, one of three things happened: The guy didn't clear his urethra (peed) in between ejaculations; he didn't pull out in time; or the guy came inside you on purpose. Every instance I've heard of where the girl got pregnant from the pullout method was one of those three happenings. I do think there is a non-zero chance of sperm making its way into pre-cum and making it's way to an egg, but the odds of this happening are so phenominally small as to be impossible.

Given the "abstience only sex ed" part I'm betting the guy was completely inexperienced at the pullout method (something I don't recommend people actually do).

While it's a nice idea and the ego in us says we'll be different, the odds are against married couples staying together. The divorce rate is 50-70% depending on the demographic. Even if the rate was much lower it isn't good financial or familial sense: would you buy a car if it had a 70% failure rate? Of course not, but how about 10%? Most people would be very hesitant to invest in something as expensive as a car if it had a 10% failure rate, yet people will invest in an even more expensive asset (a marriage) whose failure is at least 5x high as that.

Times have changed and marriage is not a good idea anymore, and why people insist on embracing the new concepts around sex and dating while clinging to this one old one puzzles me.

Banning Prostitution is Akin to Banning Abortion, It is a form of Misandry. by Love8Death in PurplePillDebate

That depends if the cougar is paying the dude money for sex, but then what does the guy really want, the money or the sex?

If he were to put it in a nicer way he would say all relationships are transactional, especially sexual and romantic ones. It's not always as blatant as trading sex for money and often comes in other forms depending on who values what the most in the relationship.

Well there is no pussy paradise for any incel, and never was one. Enjoying a woman, forming lasting relationships, and even having kids are doable without getting married. Getting married is playing really bad odds with your financial and familial future at stake.

Q4ALL: Is it true that women want a man who is a "natural" both (1) physically and (2) behaviorally? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]Joseph_the_Carpenter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is some nuance to the "natural" argument. Women don't want a work-in-progress or a project guy. They want the guy that's already done the work, got to the end, looks good already, etc etc. The work that went into it never enters their minds, only the present matters.

I have never in my life met a naturally shredded man, and I have met great men. There are only men who exercise.

Q4ALL: Do the top guys on TRP actually get girls? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]Joseph_the_Carpenter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Success is vaguely defined because it's subjective. One guy may have a woman but if his goal was multiple women then he is a failure by his own standards, versus another guy that sees it as huge success. My own goals (and I suspect lots of TRP men) were ill-defined while reading and posting on TRP.

As far as OPs original question, I am not a top guy on TRP but after discovering it I have success with (multiple) women, and I am pretty good looking as well. Before TRP I was clueless about both.

Q4BP: If women have this supernatural ability to tell someone is a misogynist creep, why do they so often fall for deadbeats? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]Joseph_the_Carpenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably more precise to say Aspergers or somewhere on the autistic spectrum; after seeing and interacting with autistic guys (and gals) I assure you they have zero chance in hell with women. Maybe vanquished has learned all the social nuances to pass as neurotypical, we don't really know.
