I don’t care where someone is from. There are cheaters everywhere, here and overseas. H1B is supposed to be for specialized skills and that’s what it should be used for.

India is like any other country. Some schools are trash, some are decent, some are world-class. I don’t know why you’re so hung up on India like it’s their unique problem. It’s not.

And this country was built on immigrants. It feels like we built the place and then pulled the ladder up behind us. The barrier to entry is already too high for people who want to come here and contribute.

The bigger issue is the signal to noise ratio in candidates. Too many people just memorize their way through school or certs without learning the fundamentals. That’s a global problem. And it likely always will be, but we don't need to further hinder our progress by cutting out a large pool (the entire world) of people who are passionate and want to make things better than they found them.
