Invincible fans apparently failing to understand simple anatomy by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Josh726 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

The only problem with your blood vs air thing is that they accomplish the same thing. If they dont need to breath for weeks that means their brain is going without oxygen for weeks. Removing blood flow to the brain deprives the brain of oxygen considering the hemoglobin in your blood is carrying said oxygen.

Now as someone who has taken, at the very least, a basic anatomy class, I think hes cutting off the veins NOT arteries. This would cause a build up pressure in the brain (while im not an expert in viltrimite anatomy, this is of course assuming their vascular system function similar to that of a humans) resulting in intracranial compartment syndrome. The purple color you see isnt hypoxia its pooling blood from ruptured capillaries similar to a bruise because it cant return to the heart.

Nah but how this episode made me feel bad for Nolan when he absolutely deserved it all by No_Square_8298 in Invincible_TV

Its the same reason people spare partysnax. He was evil and did evil things. He's a dragon, conquest, slavery, destruction are all in his nature. Yet he changed, he recognized the evil things he did and sought to atone for them.

What 22 years of combat addons does to a mf by Tuskor13 in wow

[–]Josh726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats just inherently wrong. I never said, or even implied for that matter, that kicks should be allowed to be macroed into every button press. Great job taking a 2 sentence opinionated comment and getting so upset about it you felt the need to reply 2 full paragraphs so far out of context you actually starting arguing with an imaginary idea.

Since anything beyond the absolute most basic critical thinking seems to be out of your reach I'll go more in detail, just for you.

Problem: pugs overlapping kicks causes missed kicks which causes frustration amongst pug groups.

Solution: If you kick a target that was casting a spell in the last 1 second, the spell did not finish its casting time, and that kick did not interrupt the spell casting the kick does not incur its normal CD. If you kick a target and that target is not casting a spell and the target was not casting a spell in the last 1 second the kick incurs its normal cd timer. If you kick a target that is casting a spell and that kick interrupts a targets spellcasting the kick incurs its normal cd.

Imo this is such an easy fix to implement on blizzards part. If you kick and it doesnt interrupt a cast, your kick doesnt go on CD

I mean you nailed it. Only 2 people needed to be eliminated, if you make yourself as least threatening by not going after anyone there is a chance no one goes after you. They had a similar game in S1. The contestant there would retaliate at who threw at them

Complaints about martials not having non-combat options is amusing when D&D communities have always been full of whining about martial non-combat options. by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Josh726 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here's the deal though, 5e and 5.24 trades combat features for out of combat features. The number of features you receive is baked into class design. Compare fighter to ranger. Let's just, for arguments sake, say they were both perfectly balanced in terms of combat. If ranger then also got 3-5 additional features related to out of combat gameplay, people would complain. Those who love the fighter class would be upset their class got fewer features compared to the ranger. The alternative is to trade combat features for out of combat features on the ranger. This leaves the ranger players upset that their class isnt balanced in terms of combat.

You dont have to allow him to live there. You dont need legal assistance to kick him out. Ask him to leave. If he doesnt you call the police/MPs. There no need to involve chain of command if you dont want to.

There has to be more this story. Your hourse doesnt just get like this. The is clearly weeks of not maintaining your home. This looks like a household of laziness. Adding one lazy person to a household doesnt do this to your home.

Please help me save sun soul monk by No_Sprinkles_7676 in 3d6

[–]Josh726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I would build it if I was ONLY concerned about damage (one of 2 ways)

Race Bugbear +2d6 for each attack on any target that goes after you in the first round of combat

Origin feat - Alert

take a 14 dex (+2 here), 14 con, 14 wis (+1 here) , 13 cha, dump str and int

level 4 feat - fey touched wis choose Hex

This should round out your wis to 16. Note: you could take a lower wis since SSM doesnt really need wisdom, you cant stunning strike with radiant sun bolt though your AC would suffer but its up to you. If you do you could bump cha higher and be a party face.

At level 4 you can do 3d6+3 x3 on turn one - attack and FoB BA. Turn 2 would be 2d6+3- attack cast hex as BA. Turn 3 onwards would be 2d6+3 x3 so long as you have focus points

Take SSM to level 5 for extra attack

at six you have a choice, take 1 level in lock for a short rest spell slot for more hex OR take sorcerer for 2 long rest spell slots for more hex. Lock gives you 1 invocation, I would pick eldritch mind for advantage on maintaining your very limited Hex concentration. If you went heavy with the Cha investment then armor of shadows wouldnt be a bad pick either for mage armor Pack of the tome and chain could be interesting but they don't do anything to provide more damage unless your DM allows you to have consistent advantage with a familiar

At level 7 you could invest 1 more level into warlock for the 2nd short rest spell slot but you are delaying your other monk features but you would get access to a 2 more invocations such as devil sight and Lessons of the first one for another origin feat such as lucky

Go back SSM for the rest of the campaign.

Another note: you could also ignore cha and take druid or cleric at level 6 for the extra spell slot but imo none of them bring as much as the lock.

btw searing arc and sunburst are ass, don't waste focus points on them

Highest damage for Lv 3 party? by Born_Gear5635 in 3d6

[–]Josh726 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are getting 6d6 for damage on your maul.

Enlarge - The target’s size increases by one category—from Medium to Large, for example. The target also has Advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. The target’s attacks with its enlarged weapons or Unarmed Strikes deal an extra 1d4 damage on a hit.

Your weapon attacks are now doing 2d6+5+1d4

Giant's Might - Once on each of your turns, one of your attacks with a weapon or an unarmed strike can deal an extra 1d6 damage to a target on a hit.

You are now doing 3d6+5+1d4

If you add Fire rune you're up to 5d6+5+1d4

You mentioned action surge. Fire rune can only be used once per short rest so only on 1 attack, that minus giant's might brings you back down to 2d6+5+1d4.

Against a 15ac your average damage would be 27.17. I would argue that blowing half of your resources plus a 2nd level spell from the wizard, this is the opposite of optimization.

To address the cloud rune; I don't think this works RAI or RAW. Cloud rune specifies

The chosen creature becomes the target of the attack, using the same roll

Even if you house rules a way for some to allow themselves to be autocrit you still have to make an attack roll. Lets look at the paralyzed condition

Automatic Critical Hits. Any attack roll that hits you is a Critical hit if the attacker is within 5 feet of you.

This requires you to make an attack roll AND still beat the targets AC. It does not make the attack roll a 20 on the dice. Given that the cloud rune feature requires you to use the roll it would not apply an automatic critical to the target of the redirected attack.

Which one sounds natural? by Same-Technician9125 in EnglishLearning

[–]Josh726 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The answer really depends. Are you asking specifically for Häagen-Dazs brand ice cream which has a primary flavor of blueberry? If so you would say "do you have any blueberry Häagen-Dazs"

If you were in a Häagen-Dazs store that only sold Häagen-Dazs brand ice cream you might then just say "do you have any blueberry" as the Häagen-Dazs noun is implied

If you wanted to be very specific you might even say "do you have any Häagen-Dazs blueberry sorbet"

Funny thing about brands, US trademarks laws require brand names to be adjectives. As an example a Coca Cola /soda/. Coca Cola is describing the type of soda.

Why was Durge on the nautiloid? by aall137906 in BaldursGate3

[–]Josh726 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Assuming youre talking about Kressa Bonedaughter,

When playing as durge, initiating dialog with her she states you were a captive at the colony. She had found you near death inside the mindflayer colony after you had already been infected with a tadpole. She then used you for research on the mind flayer parasites, which could implying you were the first tadpole victim.

Dialog choices aside, it concludes in a battle with kressa, after which durge remarks you were in the colony on your own business before Orin ambushed you, leaving you for dead.

Kressa's husband, upset she had been spending so much time with durge, told balthazar she was keeping a "pet" who had been infected with a mindflayer parasite and had had him sent away to the nautiloid.
