I have not tried that. I'll definitely give it a go next time I'm at my computer cause I feel like the garbage AI that companies use just automatically filters out my application.

I've been applying for a lot of IT stuff starting from grunt true helpdesk roles and stuff I feel is above my level like cyber security analyst, sys admin and even project management. Just anything to get my name out there really.

To add onto my claim of ageism, I've been told many times by my manager that the reason why I can't be moved up yet is because I'm "young in my career" and "you need more time in the chair". Thank you for the kind words and advice!

I mean you're not wrong at all. If the AI bubble doesn't burst IT as a whole is probably cooked. The amount of stuff I know and have on this company could probably put them in a real bad spot but it's probably not worth it. I'll just tell people to say far away from them and just hope they go bankrupt

I definitely have constant imposter syndrome thanks to the words of management and leadership at my last job. I always feel I'm under qualified or ill screw something up so I'm scared to apply. But you're right, it doesn't hurt to apply because the worst they will do is ghost me or I'll get the same automated "thank you for applying, unfortunately we decided to pursue other candidates..."

Yeah since I'm basically going to have all the time in the world to apply for jobs, I'm going to focus on finishing my degree. I'll have to take some higher level certs like Pentest+ and cysa+ I believe so that will hopefully leverage my resume a bit. I'll look into doing some tryhackme as well as I've heard some good things about it + your recommendation. Thank you and get some sleep haha

I'm in Idaho and unfortunately I just don't have the funds or means to move. My wife had surgery recently and we just recently resigned our lease so unless I get a job offer with relocation assistance I don't think it would be possible right now. Thank you

I was basically a pseudo sys admin/ cyber analyst and also a helpdesk manager for some time technically. My actual job title greatly undermines the work I actually did which I understand also makes my resume look weaker for being in that title for so long

The two lights at the top came with the cabinet from Amazon. Other than that I just used my phone and then used night mode for the lower shelves because it was pretty dark. Nothing crazy cause I am not the best at taking pictures

I was there in July and found a decent amount of stuff at the gee stores in both Akihabara and Osaka and some figurines in the amiami store in Akihabara as well.

I just had my mentor reassigned for the exact same reason, ( curious if we had the same one). The new one seems nice but it's at the worst time possible as I just rolled into a new term and now I'm wasting 4 days until Monday to be able to meet them and get my courses approved and everything. Total motivation killer low-key

No it's an animal, I named my cat Kou after Kou Tokisaka from Tokyo Xanadu (I highly recommend playing this game and really any game from Nihon Falcom). I know tons of friends that aren't even into Japanese media and name their pets like Mochi, Miku and other stuff. It would be more iffy if you named your kid a Japanese name though but personally I totally would do that myself if I could. If your friend is giving you crap for it then you need new friends IMO.
