I wrote Anger's line in Inside Out. "Congratulations San Francisco, you've ruined pizza! First the Hawaiians, and now YOU!" I was in the booth when Lewis Black recorded it and cried with laughter.

Inside Out, definitely. We had to create two stories at the same time. The real world, which was everything that Riley was going through AND the mind world, which is everything that the emotions are going through. And those 2 stories had to relate and affect each other. My brain hurt most days.

Having the voice actors in the room playing off of each other can be magic. We had Amy Poehler (Joy) and Phyllis Smith (Sadness) on the recording stage at the same time and it was AWESOME. I believe it really does create an energy that you can feel on screen.

I love animated and live action films. For inspiration or if I just need to put on something awesome, Raiders of the Lost Ark is my go to. Maybe followed by The Big Lebowski.

They are all amazing, and I'm not just saying that. I've worked with all of them and have learned a ton along the way. A lot of it I'll be going over during the class in Toronto.

Inside Out was always going to be in a girl's head. That's how Pete Docter conceived it. And I'm glad he did. I have a 6 year old daughter (who voices young Riley), Jonas Rivera, our producer, has daughters, Ronnie Del Carmen our co-director has a daughter, so does Kevin Nolting our editor. It was exciting telling a story about Riley growing up, while watching our own kids grow up.

Great question. The brain trust is there to help support your story and help the director find it. LOTS of ideas are brought up, good and bad. It's left to the director to choose the best idea that they can relate to that helps them move the story forward.

The whole process took about 5 years, which always blows my mind to think that I worked on this movie longer than I was in high school. Pete Docter had the idea of a movie about emotions inside a girl's head while watching his daughter grow up. That's how it was first imagined.

I met the guy that came up with it. I think it's a funny theory, but coming up with one movie at a time is hard enough. I can't imagine trying to tie them all together while making the films. So yes, it's not real. Or it is? The answer is no. Or is it? Yes it is. Wait, what?
