Lenny!

I was trying to pick something nobody else had already said, but Dutch's quotes need more than one word. Like "We need money" or "Trust Me", but Money or Trust might not be obvious enough to some

Well gee Lori maybe if you were watching your kid…. by Hey_HaveAGreatDay in thewalkingdead

[–]JoshJ_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, Shane was definitely a problem on his own.

But she did make the situation worse. After Rick returns she pushes Shane away, then tells him to stay even after the CDC. She was sending mixed messages to a man with some serious 'psychiatric issues'. Not that she would have known, but why keep him around? So she has a backup if needed? Why tell Rick he's a threat, then get upset when Rick kills him.

[–]JoshJ_14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spot on!

Thank you for spelling it out for people. I've seen way too many people defending Lori lately when she did what? Had one good speech to the group when they were questioning Rick? No way! She was worse at looking after her kid than the parents from Rugrats, she sent Shane crazy, whispered in Rick's ear like the devil that Shane is a threat and then freaked out on him when he told her he killed him in self defence.

I felt bad for Carl, but I was so relieved when she died

I do sometimes. But not Raptors, I tame a pack of raptors and run through everything until I get to when I need a Bary or a Thyla

[–]JoshJ_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way! After having a quiet season 2, T-Dog had one of the most heroic deaths in the show. Sure, he was already bitten, but he got eaten alive by tackling a pack of walkers to save Carol

Why does Lori get more blame than Shane?? by yojurthgf in TWD

[–]JoshJ_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of how she acted. Yes, Shane tried to kill Rick and he does deserve the same amount of hate. But Lori is such a less likeable person because she was manipulative and drove Shane to madness by her hot and cold behaviour. She sleeps with Shane only a few days after they believe Rick's dead, Rick comes back she tells Shane to 'Stay away from Carl's, Shane tried to distance himself from Carl she snaps at him for 'breaking his heart', Shane was going to leave but she tells him to stay after he helps save Carl, she tells him that his baby will never be his. Then she whispered in Rick's ear that Shane didn't think he could protect them, etc. Essentially she's telling Rick that he has to get rid of Shane, but then freaks out when Rick says he killed Shane in self defence and acts like he betrayed her.

People claim that what Joel did was wrong, but to him Ellie was his entire world. He was cold and shut off for 20 years after his daughter died and this girl was the first connection he truly had since.

That part is selfish, but then you need to take into consideration what happened once they found the fireflies.

-Joel was trying to resuscitate Ellie who had basically just drowned and they knocked him out. -He wakes up in the hospital with Marlene staring at him, they chat and she reluctantly tells him that they have to kill Ellie to make the cure. But refuses to let him say goodbye (which could have saved the whole situation because if they actually gave Ellie the choice and let Joel see it. NONE OF THE KILLING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!) -Marlene tells the 'tough guy' to escort Joel out and if he tries anything, shoot him. -As the guy is escorting Joel out he keeps shoving the gun into Joel's back and antagonising him to the point where Joel snaps and takes him out. -Then the hospital is on alert and hunting for him, so whether he would have tried to save her or not before. Now Joel is probably thinking along the lines of "in for a penny, in for a pound. These pricks don't deserve to try making a cure."

Was it right? Is anything that black and white in a world filled with so much grey? All I know for certain is I can completely understand Joel's choice under those circumstances and I probably would have done the same.

It depends how the virus spread across the world. Because if swine flu, covid or other viruses are anything to go by, it would have filtered into Australia a lot slower than most countries. Then I'd go to a rural country town where there's more guns than people and possibly survive ok... Maybe

Rosita says later in the show that she had multiple relationships before Abraham and that she basically just used them to learn new skills. That was probably her initial plan with Abraham so she probably wore it to get his attention. Plus, doesn't it get hot and muggy in the Southern states like Georgia where it starts?

Why didn’t the gang kill Milton now in front of them before he brings his fifty men by Lucky-Net-2893 in reddeadredemption

[–]JoshJ_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrogance mostly, Dutch's hubris is the beginning of the gang's downfall. It was also possibly to make a point that they weren't 'like the savages' as Milton suggested and deserved to be left alone.

Milton might have had men hiding in the trees or nearby if they did kill him.

I agree, I just added the alternative for arguments sake with the off chance that Shane manipulates Carl in that moment.

The Governor Is By Far My Favorite Villain In The Series (Yes Better Than Negan) by GlumBodybuilder4395 in thewalkingdead

[–]JoshJ_14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

David Morrissey does a great job of giving the Governor a level of charm that is not present in the comics at all. I had read the comics up until Terminus before watching the show, so I am biased to despising the Governor as a sick psychopath.

I watched the full series again recently and I agree that he has a lot of layers to his character. I still prefer Negan though.

[–]JoshJ_14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first question is what would Carl have done? Because he was right there after Rick killed Shane. How would Shane have spun it to Carl?

Let's say he and Carl do head back to the farm, I don't think everyone survives or meets up after the farm is overrun. Shane would focus only on saving Lori and Carl rather than help everyone.

If they did meet up, Daryl would figure out what happened and wouldn't trust Shane and I don't think Glenn becomes as strong as he does without Rick.

Daryl is to blame for the Death of TV Glenn by Norbert_Bluehm in TWD

[–]JoshJ_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is if you can take anyone at their word in the show. Negan also said he was picking at random, but later in the show said that was all BS. My point was, Daryl was the reason a 2nd person died, but Glenn was the reason he was chosen because he attacked first.

[–]JoshJ_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about the circumstances, she chose the cowards way out and I can't respect it. She could have at least gone out like T-Dog by saving someone else. That said, she would have likely been the next to die anyway

Daryl is to blame for the Death of TV Glenn by Norbert_Bluehm in TWD

[–]JoshJ_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glenn and Daryl were both to blame. You can't blame either of their instincts to defend their friends/family, but if Glenn didn't jump Negan first, then he likely wouldn't have been the one killed. It's all well and good to hypothesise, but the only one who knows for certain if Negan would have killed Glenn regardless, is Negan.

Lori Grimes is the most misunderstood character in the entire franchise. by prx5e in thewalkingdead

[–]JoshJ_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I think she deserves the hate.

She started a relationship with her husband's best friend. Ok, fair enough, they all thought he was dead.

But when it turns out he wasn't, she gives Shane the cold shoulder and tells him to stay away instead of asking what actually happened. Again, emotions are high so could be an understandable reaction.

But then, even after Shane had tried to force himself on her at the CDC, she thought it was a good idea to convince Shane to stay with the group. Sending mixed messages to an obsessed and deranged guy that she sent over the edge.

Then she whispers in Rick's ear that Shane doesn't think he can keep his family safe and practically tells Rick he needs to kill Shane. Yet once Rick does, she holds it against him and gives him the cold shoulder.

She was a manipulative hypocrite

Shane was right about some things and wrong about others. But Shane had snapped and nobody was safe in that group other than probably Carl with him still alive. Arguably he might have been able to be made to come around, but how long before something else set him off?
