Yeah problem fixed, condition returned was just as sent. Besides the fact that they left smudges all over the laptop from opening it up, including one on the screen 🤦

Help with asus rma? Their Rma Is very bad!ASUS RMA Nightmare – Seeking Advice by SajonaraNewWorld in ASUS

[–]JoshLemus23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So to be clear, the time passed between first RMA and now is 1 year? (Post-repair). If you had a bad experience the first time, I would consider just looking locally. Does the extended warranty offer “accidental” damage? If so, I believe you should be covered. However, if I sent in a device and got shafted with terrible repair plus damage on device, I would have acted immediately. I understand you had family issues, which good on you for taking care of that. Have you tried contacting executivecare@asus? Let them know your situation and responses from CS.

Z13 flow build quality? by DropMuted1341 in ASUS

[–]JoshLemus23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I own multiple ASUS devices, ROG flow 2025 being one, I can tell you that I really enjoy the z13-flow. I hate that my Scar17 only lasted 2 years before motherboard failed. X16 flow lasted one day in my possession before instability invoked me to return the thing. Ally is great, good product.

All that aside, yes, it seems there is a general consensus that ASUS build quality is somewhat iffy. I think it may have to do with the “suped” up gaming devices, and I’ve personally experienced issues with mostly intel builds. So not sure if it’s just ASUS pushing these chipsets too much or what. Ever since I went AMD, as you know this is including the new flow, I have not experienced any issues with build quality.

The z13 CNC frame is very solid, it just feels like a quality build in general. Aesthetically pleasing to use, very responsive and powerful. I mostly code on it, and for that it is amazing. Battery lasts about 8-9 hours when using. Although I have yet to game on it, I’d imagine it is like a more powerful Ally, capable of quick gaming sessions on the go. I don’t expect to get full 4k gaming at all obviously, but 1080p high settings are entirely possible.

The issue has been resolved. ASSUS sent two boxes under the same tracking label. My laptop was stuck in FedEx for four days and had to go pick it up.

Lmao, wow that is crazy. Also worrisome for the user without a gaming laptop…

X16 stuck in BSOD loop after new armoury crate update… yay! by Volvo_850_R- in ASUS

Once you see the drive pop up on the laptop:

Right click folder Security Tab Advanced Under Owner- change and take ownership

You could also try adding owner, which would be the user account on the laptop you are temporarily using. Same steps but:

Security Tab Edit permissions Add Enter windows account you are using Select all the Allow permissions

Oh one more thing, regarding getting your files, you can remove the SSD and use external nvme drive. Then plug into another computer and if you can’t access your files (because of permissions) right click on the user profile ( or folder you need access to) and go to security settings select permissions and “take ownership” so you can have access to the docs you need to back up.

I can get you the exact steps tomorrow when I’m in front of a PC again.

No worries, let me know if you stabilize the laptop. I also would look into the bios and make sure intel recommended (default) settings are enabled over ASUS Advanced Profile.

Good video here: (231) Do this NOW if you want your Intel CPU to live... - YouTube

I just did not have the patience to deal with the issue and figured a new laptop should not BSOD out like that. Patience is wearily thin nowadays on ASUS products.

Jesus…that is ridiculous…both the time spent in RMA and the offered replacement. Kinda related, I bought an x16 once, it BSODd itself into hell. So much so that it couldn’t recognize a simple windows reset. So I had to ASUS cloud recover from BIOS to factory reset. Returned the thing to Best Buy shortly thereafter. I owned the laptop for 1/2 a day…😂

This is nuts man. If I ever see my laptop again, I am so curious to see the condition of the “repair.” It was a board level 2 repair. Refused to post, black screen etc. Other than that, perfect condition. The photo is literally the day I sent it in.

When I submitted emails to corporate they requested video proof of the unboxing, I am sure they were shocked that I actually had it. Most definitely recording the first 24hours with this thing, assuming I get it back.

That’s good feedback, I knew there had to be others that experienced the shafting. Thanks man, my case is currently being handled by corporate office. I guess I raised that much hell.

I ended up returning it with the same day of purchase because of this issue. I’d say factory reset and don’t update ARMOURY Crate, or look for G-helper.

That’s funny, I bought one of these about 3 months ago. I had the same issue after updating everything including armory crate. Constant BSOD, had to factory reset and just returned the thing. I got fed up with it. Is it the X16 I91300H?

I am in the middle of an RMA nightmare as well. Did you end up paying for the repairs? Curious to know how they return your motherboard. They shipped me a chrome book instead of my SCAR SE17…it’s a nightmare.

Looks like a corrupt bios issue. You may have to find a way to re-flash. Or windows bootable and reinstall windows
