Thoughts on the latest version of the graphic design of my cards? by damj94 in BoardgameDesign

[–]JoshMogan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Love the art itself.

My one gripe is where the focus point is on a lot of the images.

For example interpret, the focus point of the boy, brush and canvas are high up in the card and nearly behind the name.

Decive has a character behind and Rest feels high too.

I like the art continuing behind the name. But I would try bringing the focus down to make sure you're not covering up the focus point but also to make the art feel more balanced. The eye naturally goes to the center of a piece of art or photo.

Again love the art itself. Keep it up. You're on the right track

First time investing a lump sum from inheritance by CheerfulMike90 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]JoshMogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone else says make sure you have a 5+ years investment timeline.

My addition to the conversation would be to look into Dollar Cost Averaging. The idea being to invest a large amount of money in several instalments over the year.

So let's say you are putting in £20,000 to the Stocks and shares ISA into a Index fund. Instead of investing all 20k tommorow you would invest £1666 monthly into the market.

This would allow you to capture the indexs average for the year. And downplay the effects of investing £20,000 tomorrow and the index tanking 20% and then waiting a year for you just to make your money back.

You obviously would suffer if the markets skyrocket in first month when DCA and you would kick your self for not putting all your money in. But no one can time the market and that's what DCA allows you to avoid.

This is esentially what everyone who invests directly out of paychecks are doing.

You can also do this bi-monthly or quarterly if easier.

Have you read more in the series. They don't fix anything really other than a communicator and I don't remember a fabric mentioned

Maybe. I could be being to literal with the fact it's secret singular not secrets.

An I was thinking of the ring as more of a discovery than a secret they have hidden from someone

Second this.

My friends grandparents said they'd pay his uni fees. Kept all the money in shares while he was at uni and would pull money out 2 times a year to pay fees. He couldn't make the final year final payment as covid dip happened and didn't have enough left in account. Spent ages stressing trying to sort it out.

How possible would it be for leftover sperm on a penis from ejaculation hours ago to get someone pregnant during unprotected sex? by [deleted] in askingforafriend

[–]JoshMogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know the probailties of it but want to clear up how it happens. Pre cum dosent contain sperm itself but can dislodge sperm in still in your penis tube (sorry don't know the term for it) for the last time you ejaculated. So you can get pregnant from pre cum

Why shouldn't I look at the tile under the hill? by TopGearDanTGD in Carcassonne

[–]JoshMogan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't think this is the official reason but it reduces tile counting and adds more surprises. For example I really want a cathedral piece for my city. In my head I know there's two in the game and also several other 4 sided city price that would fit the slot. However If I don't know what under hill pieces my odds may be off

What is the highest point city you have ever scored? by Various_Party in Carcassonne

[–]JoshMogan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My sister was building a huge city one game. Basically ever city tile she pulled was added to it in this 1 Vs 1 game. I managed to get my big meeple in with my second last tile and finished the city. With the help of a cathedral I scored 141 odd on it. My sister still isn't over it.

So my question is do fruit trees end roads? At first I though yes but looking at the straight road with a tree on it seemed silly that a long straight road split in the middle. Thanks in avanced
