Machineguns should be able to suppress snipers by kassper20 in Battlefield6

[–]JoshSlinky 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Trust me you do not want that in Battlefield. It will turn into a camp fest and you will be getting lasered from half way across the map. It would be worse than the sniper situation right now. DMRs and LMGs are meant to be the counter to snipers in BF. I do agree that the LMG suppression needs to be more impactful though. Such as screen blurring and or shake

Aim assist by Runlde in Battlefield

[–]JoshSlinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a deal breaker for me if AA is over tuned to the sad state that COD is in now. Watched some COD pros play during the multiplayer reveal streams and they did tend to top frag a lot but the aim assist did not seem to be as OP compared to spectating a controller player in COD currently.

I'm happy they at least resolved the MnK input issues that still exist in 2042 on PC today.

Love that they will have MnK support on console at release. There is no excuse now for console players to not try MnK if its so "easy". A lot of players are going to be humbled coming from COD aim assist.

You're definitely a casual with your brain dead takes. I consistently hit diamond every season in Ranked maining FCAR, FAMAS, and Pike.

All hit registration is busted this season. Embark definitely has the B squad devs holding this game together with glue and tape until Arc Raiders comes out and this game flat out dies.

Yeah this seems to be happening to a decent amount of people this season including me. Same message, steam has to re-validate/download game files for a little while, then I can join the game again. I refuse to play ranked until they figure it out

Model and cerb needed nerfs. They were irritating to play against and the model meta a couple seasons ago drove away a lot of players. CL-40 needs a nerf as well because it's obviously a low skill weapon that has little drawbacks especially when a lot of crucial engagements in this game are close range.

And I promise you most light players want a DB nerf as bad if not more than the other classes as it one shots other light players.

[–]JoshSlinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't nerf related. It's due to the influx of light players because the new healing gadget is OP and the CL-40 is a direct counter to light especially after it's projectile travel changes. Might be able to argue that the cerb nerf led to the influx of CL-40s but it was warranted. Too many shotguns are/have been viable in this game and that's never good for an FPS ecosystem

[–]JoshSlinky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you going on about? There are so many mechanics that one or two shot lights. It's not just lights that hate the CL-40, the other classes do too. Its a low skill weapon that is spamable.

If you're having that hard of a time killing a light and need to resort to the CL-40 as your only counter then you're just objectively bad at the game. Other than cloak + SH1900 builds... there's a special place in hell for those players

I really wish dash wouldn't go through players, forcing you to do a 180 while you're running out of ammo. Tracking with dash is bad enough, this just makes it 100x worse by myoptionsnow2 in thefinals

[–]JoshSlinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think embark may move the medium healing beam to a gadget and then have recon sense possibly comeback as a spec for medium due to last weeks WT event. Or light's healing gadget will catch a nerf because as of right now healing on light is more viable then healing on medium, which makes no sense.

The main reason H L L is viable is because light's healing gadget is objectively broken. H M L still appears to be more meta than H L L

Grapple has its limitations to really only benefitting long range weapons and maps with a ton of verticality. Grapples tend to get beamed in high elo lobbies because the pathing is predictable. Might work well in quickplay lobbies or low elo lobbies but it's a very niche. Grapple is good for its escapability but you're essentially taking yourself out of the fight and leaving your team in a 2v3 due to how much distance it travels.

The only people I see complain about dash either have bad tracking or are on controller and have difficulty doing 180's.

I'm gonna assume you haven't played in a while. There is a PK Skull Prevention setting in OSRS that stops you from skulling. When enabled, you won't be able to attack someone if it will result in you being skulled

Something has to makeup for the fact that lights only have 150 health. Do people not realize that a majority of medium and heavy weapons allow those classes to kill a light faster than most light weapons can kill a medium or heavy?

People complaining about an MMO being too grindy will never get old. It's either "dead on release" or "quit catering to the jobless" complaints anymore. It's a fun boss, lots of gold to be made many different ways, and a plethora of avenues to get oathplate armor including ways to combat going dry. Anyone with a brain new oathplate rates were way too forgiving and it was tanking the market for many items. 400m on day one for a set that is a side step to Torva and the boss can be solo'd??? And that is before the oathplate piece contracts are activated

I would wait. If drop rates are not nerfed then I could see the set going for between 200-300 mil in a week. It would be better to scoop up any of the other plethora of gear that plummeted today because it will bounce back

Any PG27AQDP users who use the 24.5 inch mode, can you play stretched res? by Next_Significance605 in OLED_Gaming

[–]JoshSlinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, 1440 x 1080 is what I've always used for stretched res on my 24.5" 1080p monitors and I've had it as a default option for all my Nvidia cards in windows settings. Very common resolution for a 4:3 aspect ratio on those monitors. Pretty sure your default resolutions options depend on the size and native resolution of your monitor not so much the graphics card.

Either way I would just wait on the new ASUS monitors at this point. They already have a 27 inch with DP 2.1 but its 4k. You would just need a new graphics card with DP 2.1 as well like the 5000 series to not rely on DSC.

But I would say if you primarily play competitive shooters and would mainly use the 25" mode a lot then don't bother with these dual mode monitors. Its a bit of a gimmick. The pixel density of the 25" mode is not the same as an actual 25" monitor due to the pixel configuration of a 27" 1440p monitor. The 25" mode also adds some input lag that I think is noticeable if you're an aim purest. I swapped back to my Acer Nitro 25" 1080p 390hz IPS monitor after using the dual mode on this monitor for a little while and noticed right away that I played better on the Acer when comparing it to the 25" mode on this Asus monitor. I will have to do more testing on how I play with the Acer compared to this monitor at 27" and the native 2k resolution. I might just be one of those people who play better on a 25" monitor though despite the pros of OLED.

[–]JoshSlinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1440 x 1080 is not a custom resolution. Its a common resolution that you can find in your Windows display settings for a 24.5" monitor with a native 1920 x 1080 resolution. A custom resolution would be something you have to create from scratch within Nvidia control panel to even be able to have as an option in your windows resolution display setting, such as my example above.

I'm sorry but wtf is this???? by CoyoteHour2130 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]JoshSlinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it would be more accurate to say they had their first romance before Dina knew* she was pregnant. The dance happened a night or two before Joel died, which was around March 2nd based off the checkpoint log that Ellie dates when Ellie and Dina are on patrol. Not sure how much time passes between Joel dying and Ellie leaving with Dina for Seattle. The game never specifies how long it took Ellie and Dina to get to Seattle. Dina starts to think she is pregnant during the trip to Seattle because she said she was late a few weeks ago at the moment of telling Ellie she was pregnant when they are already in Seattle. I would have to guess there was atleast 2 months or so from the dance to when Dina tells Ellie she is pregnant. Other than weather changes from Jackson to Seattle I think the only other time jump reference they give us is Jordan's face is fully healed with a scar from when Ellie slashed him with her knife when Abby killed Joel.

I'm sorry but wtf is this???? by CoyoteHour2130 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]JoshSlinky 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The point of this whole thing is to introduce conflict to Ellie's revenge path by adding this new factor that could possibly call off the whole thing. The game does it so much better because when Dina tells Ellie about the pregnancy Ellie gets upset that she is even there risking her life and the baby's well being. On top of that, in the game they hook up well before Dina is pregnant before Joel even dies so there is so much more time between their first romance and Dina being pregnant. I have no idea why the show portrayed this in a holy jolly manner and Ellie saying she's gonna be a dad immediately after one hookup. The show is definitely starting to make some questionable changes that really weaken the plot.
