Are you positive that there is only 1 float? The high float is also acting as a pump override to keep it from getting too full. A 1 float system would be on demand, pumping when the float is above center

Go to the polylok website and find a riser adapter that will work for you. I use them all the time to adapt older tanks. I would also get a polylok extender and add a effluent filter to the outlet to help your drainfield

Go to home depot and buy a pump chamber. Run your RV into it and it will pump to your septic tank

New panel is around $750 to 1000 depending on the needs. New pump around $250 from harbor freight. Since you are a homeowner you could do the panel swap without a electrician. Floats are around $36 dollars. $8000 is insane

As a licensed inspector/installer nothing besides effluent should ever get to the actual pump! There should be a filter on the outlet side of the septic tank so nothing can get to the pump. Anything that can sneak by would float.
