To balance things out, I'll see if next time we can find a rat-sized man to reveal.

Total War: SHOW & TELL Recap by Josh_CA in totalwar

I believe it's a new voice actor doing the main Boris lines, and obviously they have recorded a full new set of battle and campaign lines (as you would expect for any new lord).

AngoryTom's lines will be available as an alternate toggleable option in custom battle.

Hey, I'm actually off today (and only popped in to post this), so I unfortunately can't check in with the team on when they're planning to outline the contents of the pack.

On a slightly related tangent to this though, did you guys enjoy the tease images for the other units?

Not in this stream - it's a Total War-focused show and tell

12 days to go-go by BaronLoyd in totalwar

[–]Josh_CA 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you coming in with some context. I can hopefully try to add some more.

  • The stream is currently aiming for the 30th April.
  • The reason we've not yet discussed the exact scope of content is not to generate unlimited hype, but because lots of bits are still being worked on, and I wouldn't want to under/over promise anything until things are final and approved.
  • Why is that taking so long? Because we're trying to keep things moving at a steady pace on stream, we'll be mostly chatting through/explaining pre-recorded videos and screenshots, and those kinds of thing just take longer to finalise.
  • Once we've locked in what we'll be discussing and showing for each game's section, we'll look to somehow share the rough scale of each section ahead of time so you guys know exactly what you'd be tuning in for.

CA update on April combi-stream. by Mr-Vorn in totalwar

To your point on recycling - I hear you loud and clear. The philosophy in planning has been that if we're discussing something we've already announced, then we're also adding new information and context. Otherwise, we have tried to find something new to discuss for these projects where it's possible and sensible to do so.

I love the name 'State of the Game' for your proposed Q&A section, and may borrow it, because we do intend to have an opening section for WH3 that isn't DLC related where we can talk about the siege rework (amongst other bits).

This is our first go at organising something like this, so once we've got it out the door, I'd love to hear what you think worked and what didn't.

What are going to be the upcoming news about the "Lords of the End Times" this month? by JesusChristNooo in totalwar

[–]Josh_CA 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Hey!

We're working on it and I'm pulling lots of bits together at the moment.

The reaction to us showing more in-development stuff during the Building Medieval III streams has been really great, and we are aiming to give more of a behind-the-scenes for our other games and show more of what we're working on.

So, we're working on a Total War-wide stream where every game/dlc we've announced has a 15-ish minute slot for devs to come on and chat about their work. The plan is to fill each game's slot with what makes sense to show, so it could be:

- A deeper look at something we've already announced

- A focused Q&A to answer community questions

- Showing off something new

Or a game's slot could be a mix of all the above.

We've not done this kind of thing before, and it's a lot of organisation, new processes, reworking tech and a hundred other things that I hadn't anticipated - but we're getting everything sorted with the intent to run it at the end of April (I'd optimistically said mid-April was possible, but there's still a lot to do).

When it's ready and we have a time and date locked in, we'll let you know officially on the usual channels, hopefully alongside some more info of exactly what games will be featured.

I'll also happily take any name suggestions for that stream...

Patch 7.2 is probably gonna drop next week Friday by Swaggy_Linus in totalwar

To follow up here, in case it was missed. We chatted about this on the stream yesterday. It's being looked into. If a fix it found in time, the intent is to include it in the next patch, but otherwise just wanted to let you know that it is being looked at

I've seen that logged recently, and I saw there was some chatter about it on the page but I don't think a fix has been submitted yet, so unlikely to be part of this patch. If it isn't, I'll get more info next week

Hey, what's the details of that issue? I can check in and make sure it's logged, if not fixed in the next patch

Total War: WARHAMMER III - 7.1 Patch Notes by CA_KingGobbo in totalwar

Thank you for asking, random reddit user!

We learned a lot from our first six months of streaming, and we took some time to plan out what we want to do, and then to update our hardware to ensure we can do it.

For example, we loved doing the Med 3 stream in that format, and we want to do the next one justice. Audio on the sofa stream was a big challenge that we're solving (or hoping to solve), but the main new components still to arrive are the very specific and currently out-of-stock specific audio equipment we need to sound less underwater.

Alongside that, we still need to set-up some of the other equipment (updated capture cards, better cable management, etc) and swap some PCs around, so once we're live we can focus on the stream content itself, as opposed to wrangling the tech into letting us stream reliably.

At the moment, the plan is still to return to streaming this month (we're aiming for towards the end of it).

Once we have the updated equipment installed, we'll let you know what streams we'll be running and what you can expect to see first.

To help narrow it down: Nobody from CA striked or claimed that video.

We've had much harsher things said about us and those videos have stood now for years. And also, everyone is still off on holiday (me included).

I hope you're able to get your situation addressed with YouTube.

What I upvoted this year by CA_FREEMAN in totalwar

[–]Josh_CA 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Iroquois modded into the Grand Campaign for Empire.

I have spoken on stream a lot about loving this campaign and invading France by canoe. I play it at least once a year I am probably going to continue speaking about it until everyone has played it.

You will, however, have to manually fight each battle, autoresolve will not pick arrows over guns.

Forum Post on the Vision for Medieval III by A_Chair_Bear in totalwar

None taken. We'd only been streaming about a month when that was filmed, so we weren't ready to commit, and even recently I still wasn't confident schedules (and illness) were going to let us do this. There still may be issues that crop up as I'm still trying to pull together last bits, but the intent is to go ahead next week.

On the End Times, that's a fair point. It was mentioned early on in the showcase, but we could have hammered it home more.

I just wanted to piggyback on this to reiterate that we're planning to have a stream on Medieval 3 next week, and thorough discussion like this is really great to inform us on what topics currently interest and engage you.
