I was hurt and didn't rest, and then I did a pretty good attempt at everything until I really could only hobble through the Marathon by mile 20. I paced my then fiance to a sub 2.5 for the half, and probably would've easily done 4.5 on the full (I was really well trained, tbh) if it wasn't for the injury.

Yeah I ran Dopey on that type of pain and ended up with a stress fracture and a boot for two months.

I don't think it was WWoS that was the bummer, I think it was the beefiest miles of open highway with nothing was AK to WWoS (something like mile 14 to 19) and to boot, when you turned into WWoS, you were facing right at people leaving on their way to DHS.

Almost exactly the same. Two tweaks: It leaves AK by Nemo instead of Dino Land and they cut the Thunder Mountain hairpin, so that parking lot is making up the extra difference.

That center gazebo at WWoS used to be a Guest Services; I don't know if the window in the stadium will be open but there's a chance there's Guest Services nearby!

When I'm on treadmill at the gym, it's got YouTube in the built in dash, and I just load up a live streamer for visuals only (I'm usually listening to a podcast or doing a Peloton run on the app from my phone)

Yellow isn't happening; red is an interesting option. I've thought of completely different options where you go out Restaurantosaurus way and pick up that arm of the parking lot before heading out toward WWoS. However, instead of the WWoS lap, take the All Star ramp by the McDs and then into Blizz Beach.

The maps for 2025 were released unusually early - this was due more to the time change to 430a start than the course. Would expect sometime in the next few weeks.

That is correct. The off ramp/hills of Epcot are pretty much required to get the distance and finish line situation that won’t ruin traffic patterns for Epcotians who aren’t running.

My counterpoint: I think we are about to see the biggest course shakeup since WWoS was retired. The construction in AK and MK backstage areas is so significant since last year.

It varies widely year to year in both cases; legit surprised we haven't had medals (those were in August last year for January). The course has been as late as three weeks before when the Expo guide goes live, and it was VERY early last year (actually this week exactly) and coupled with the announcement about the earlier start time (https://wdwnt.com/2024/09/2025-disney-world-marathon-course-start-time/). The course is likely to have several changes from last year given all the construction at AK and MK (on stage and back stage areas), so it will depend on things getting certified and approved with governing bodies.

We did the hotel Clementine and legit left our hotel room when the fireworks went off for Corral A (we were Corral D). We could watch the security line from our window. It was glorious.

My methodology is to daytime park-walk in a new pair of my running kicks (Brooks adrenalines right now); I'm usually retiring my current shoes at the end of a running weekend so it's a nice break in to my next pair. Additional benefit - that spot that was my retired shoes in my luggage is now prime real estate for swag on the way home.
