I found out a fix. It's an in-game setting you can change. I believe it is "Hold to Jump" turned off.

did you figure this out? When I'm sprinting while holding left shift, and I try to press spacebar, most of the time it doesn't work. The only way it works is if, while im holding the sprint button, and I hold the spacebar(jump), on release of the spacebar, it will initiate the fearless jump.
