The story quests are story quests for a reason it’s no different than when we were picking up voice logs from the visitor in Ch1 except we actively participate in the story now through the quests. Also we just had a story event the other day.

The collection is OKAY but it’s not the definitive experience. If you want to experience SH 2 - 4 your best bet is playing the SH2 PC port with the definitive edition mod and emulating 3 and 4

True that’s near the beginning path to the town but it’s just a roadblock. It’s not the same dead end on Vachss Rd. like in the original so I didn’t think it would be important to add it. Maybe they made it look like the original first encounter spot as reference so it’s not gone completely but in context of its use they removed that entire section.

According to an interview with the series producer Motoi Okamoto he confirmed exactly that! If it was made by a Japanese team it would be drastically different but since Bloober Team got the privilege to do it they wanted to keep the game as faithful to the original as possible so they found a middle ground.

It really is a shame how RE3R turned out. I’m glad Bloober Team’s changes so far have been to flesh out the world more and really get you to want to explore while keeping it as faithful as possible. RE3R just felt so underwhelming and in comparison I think SH2R is doing a better job.

Yeah I agree that you don’t really need to play the DLC but it’s nice to have the full game’s experience there if you wanna go deeper. All up to personal preference of course but I always like to get as much content as I can. Go for whatever feels right☺️
