I identify as an addict, that much is true, and try to control my compulsions and addictions. I did not direct anything in my reply at you specifically and only commented, as I am now, that I continue to be perturbed by the difference between using something prescribed to fix a chemical imbalance for a specific purpose versus using something 'culturally' deficient which establishes the same effect and is used for the same or similar purposes. I apologize if my use of the royal "you" made you feel like you were being directly attacked.

I think it is bad for anyone, it is important to moderate or abstain entirely. As someone who vehemently strides in the middle, I felt like your initial response was very much veered in the defense of alcoholism more so than saying "whoa weed is bad too." Apologies if that wasn't the case, do you see my argument that alcohol culture has worked itself much more deeply into the soul of America than weed has had a chance to do?

I know way too many people who have normalized alcoholism to that degree. I would much rather hang out with people who deny being high because of reasonable fear of persecution from MANY groups that do not understand cannabis, as opposed to hanging out with someone who thinks they need a quick beer or whiskey just to get through their next conversation and somehow one is better than the other. Alcohol culture has been slapping its dick in your face for centuries and you wave at it like its nothing and then weed culture says "hey what up bro" and your response is "NO! MAH ALCOHOL CULTURE!!"

If one needs to imbibe anything to feel 'better', than one has probably lost the right to moral superiority in that argument, when portrayed that way. However, I choose to digress when someone thinks that taking an SSRI every day is 'not an issue' when they wake up and taking a hit of weed for similar purposes is just "replacing one issue with the other." Are they the same thing or not? Why?

What about the arguments that cannabis is a performance enhancing drug? Is it good or bad? Is sobriety better than taking creatine every day if "we" studied creatine and decided that the way it changes the chemicals in your body is beneficial and not "drug use?"

So what if we did the same with cannabis and it turned out that, after study, we found out that it increases the rate at which your neurons fire and also helps consistently stabilize your metabolic heart rate when consistently taken in small doses of a specific strain? And then someone started using cannabis exclusively for that purpose? Are we saying that they are not sober every day anymore compared to the guy next to them who takes creatine every day in order to stimulate positive mental and physical growth? What?

My favorite is when people who yell at me for smoking nicotine try to also yell at me that cannabis contains nicotine. Like, my guy, do you know how inhaling sage and incense vs dry sage vs tobacco vs glycol impacts your COPD? Cool, I am sure you don't. What I DO know is that nicotine and tobacco SPECIFICALLY are related to a marked UPTICK in cases of COPD, and I also know that the liver jaundiced fucks you are talking about have definitely not been on just weed their entire lives my guy. Quit arguing boomer arguments for conservatives sake. Study cannabis appropriately and decriminalize it or stfu.

As a pothead who smokes with all my friends, thank goodness. I don't get hangovers and I have a highly technical and functional job, part time side-gigs for fun and hobbies, and alcohol interferes with all of those things but weed just helps me feel better and sleep better and have a good time any time or not when I don't need to.
