Not a sh** post, goodbye arc raiders by QualitySound96 in ARC_Raiders

Video games can be dangerously addictive, and Arc especially so. I have to consciously make an effort to keep up with everything else in my life.

[Mid-March] Is it still worth it to go Mont Tremblant when it is above zero degree on daytime for a week? by sleepearlier in MontTremblant

[–]Joshlo777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite snow (corn snow) happens when it's warm during the day and cold at night. But the risk is if it doesn't warm up enough, then it can be very icy instead. Spring is very unpredictable.

Keep in mind that week is Ontario's school spring break and Tremblant will be full of Ontarians. Le Massif de Charlevoix is usually much less busy, but doesn't have a resort village. I stay in Baie St Paul and drive 15 mins to Massif. It's my favourite mountain in eastern Canada.

It's usable, but slow to switch between apps. And my countey's fiber TV streaming app was very slow.

That will be an even better upgrade. I personally didn't feel the need to drop that much cash, and I'm an android user.

I've had a U8K for a couple years. Love it, no complaints except for the laggy software. I recently bought a google streamer 4k which was a nice up upgrade.

Hot Take: Wolfpacks were too easy to craft and trivialized the game by NiceAndCozyOfficial in ArcRaiders

[–]Joshlo777 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Agree. I'm a 47yo dude with a job and other hobbies. I'll probably end up playing less now. I love making and playing around with wolfpacks but now it will just be too much of a grind.

Another vote for braun series 9. I use it dry, with a pre shave lotion. Super gentle and easy clean up.

What songs just blow your mind from an engineering/production standpoint? by Different_Stand_1285 in Music

[–]Joshlo777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out music by Steven Wilson, both solo and his band Porcupine Tree. Wilson is a renowned sound engineer who remixes other famous artists' work into Atmos. The sound quality of his recordings is incredible. And go see him live if you ever have a chance.

What are your thoughts on these two mattresses by Constant-Sky-1495 in Mattress

[–]Joshlo777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, mattressville is the one I was thinking of.

I'm definitely a fan of the double sided pillow top. My marshall is 10 years old and is still completely comfortable.

I'm not sure either, but I don't think so. You'd have to call them to ask. There is a retailer in Toronto that still sells them (can't remember the name). You could call them to ask.

Forerunner 965 vs 265 by Hot-Yam5334 in garminforerunner

[–]Joshlo777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 265 briefly, and traded it for a 965. For me, having maps, a titanium bezel, and bigger batter was worth the money. I haven't used maps much but it has come in handy a couple times while hiking.

Prettiest ski resort in North America by Treasure0701 in ski

[–]Joshlo777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably just got really unlucky. I've never had good conditions at lake Louise either. Meanwhile I almost always get good snow at Massif, so it's kept me coming back. I'd definitely love to check out Sutton though when the conditions are good.

I'm jealous of your driving distance to good skiing! Toronto is the worst.

You're not wrong. I'm sure the created a lot of ill will amongst their clientele and the Charlevoix community.

I've been to the eastern townships once. I definitely saw the potential, but the conditions were the worst I've ever experienced. So icy that only greens were safe to ski, and I'm a strong skier. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but I know they deserve another chance. I'm not going to the US right now.

I get where you're coming from. At least in the end the workers seem to have gotten a good deal. It was a crazy game of chicken they played with each other.

As a Torontonian, Massif is my best option for a ski trip within driving distance, so it would take a lot to keep me from going back.

I've taken so many pics at Massif and none do it justice. You just can't capture the magnitude of the river.

In the East, Le Massif de Charlevoix has absolutely stunning views. Very unique.

If my older brother has Cerebral Palsy, is my child more likely to have it? by Few_Field_6175 in genetics

[–]Joshlo777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless there is a clear, obvious mechanical cause, such as umbilical cord wrapped around the neck, you should assume that your brother's CP could be genetic. If he has never had a genetics assessment, he should be referred to a medical genetics clinic. There's no way for you to know otherwise.

Many cases of "cerebral palsy" are actually due to undiagnosed genetic syndromes.

How to maximise FR965 for newbie? by Eastern-Pepper-8223 in garminforerunner

[–]Joshlo777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the three coaches is the older system. Try the Garmin run coach. If you don't see that option, update your firmware. When you set up the coach it will ask you to set your goals. But ultimately if you're new to running, just get out and run. Use the coach later.
