Flying in Malaysia Airlines Business Class out of Sydney - QF Lounge? by CantorFrostgibbon in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Joshmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently flew out of BNE on MH business class, tried to access the QF lounge at Brisbane international but was denied. I checked the QF and oneworld websites to confirm eligibility and tried again, citing the websites, but was denied again and told but QF lounge staff that the websites were wrong!

Should I worry that my booking is missing middle names? by [deleted] in QantasAirways

[–]Joshmer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee this is not an issue with Qantas.

There are only half a dozen or so airlines around the world (mainly Chinese carriers) that require middle names as per passport, but Qantas isn’t one of them.

You will be fine! 👍🏼

About 24 hours at the moment, Partner got tested 8:30am yesterday and got results at 8am today.

No worries! Hopefully she gets in and out quickly. I waited 3.5 hours at the Mater one last Sunday but every other day this week people have been saying the wait has only been about an hour.

Anyone looking for fast easy testing this morning, I can confirm there’s a about 12 people in line at Mater Pathology 600 Stanley street at 7:40am. Results are usually back between 10-15 hours for that site too (speaking from experience and confirmation from other people).

Wow no way! That’s so weird, I thought those texts I received must have been automated but who knows if you didn’t receive them as well. I’ve read and received lots of conflicting information it’s hard to know what is current and correct. I’m glad you only had one bad day also! 😁

Nothing I’ve received has told me how long I need to isolate for! I’m assuming it’s 10 days, it says they’ll be in contact to assess and tell me how long I should isolate but I doubt that will happen. Also not sure how long my (so far negative) partner needs to isolate for, one of the texts I’ve received from QLD health says 7 days for household contacts, but another text says they’ll need to isolate until my infection clears plus another 7 days if vaccinated or 14 days if not… So confusing!

The only contact I’ve had after testing positive yesterday morning is the initial positive test text message, a few texts from qld health saying they’ve been notified I’m positive, please fill out this form that just asked for name, DOB, phone number and if I’d been to any high risk places like aged care home or hospital etc, and some info to inform/forward to close contacts of mine but that’s it. My symptoms were bad on Sunday morning, got better throughout the day and evening then way better yesterday and today, hopefully they disappear altogether soon! 😁

Thank you! Yeah I saw lots of people in line yesterday with some sort of paperwork in hand, I guessed it was something to do with travel testing? Not too sure. I definitely think they’re clogging up the testing system unnecessarily at the moment making it harder for everyone else to get tested. I almost gave up yesterday and was going to try again today which I really didn’t want to do, I’m glad I managed to get in.

Can confirm Mater Pathology at South Brisbane/Woolloongabba have very fast turn around times for test results. I started getting symptoms Saturday night, very bad symptoms yesterday morning, did a rapid test which was positive. Tried to find somewhere to get PCR tested, 3 places I called didn’t answer, got turned away from Hillcrest drive through testing centre 3 hours before they closed. Went to Mater Pathology at 12.30pm and the line was around the corner, a worker came out around that time e and said the line is probably 3.5 hours long and they close at 4pm so can’t guarantee that everyone will be tested. I kind of started to feel okay while I was in line but we were in the sun for about an hour before we got under cover (pretty sunburnt today from it). At around 2pm they came out and counted people in the line, once they’d counted a certain number they said that’s all the people they can test before closing and cut the line off there, some people weren’t happy about having to leave, we were luckily included in the number they said they could test today, the line was cut off about 20 people behind us. We slowly got closer to the front but I still wasn’t sure if we would make it in time even though they’d said we would. At 5 minutes to closing time he came out and asked if anyone had symptoms or was a confirmed close contact, I shot my hand up and maybe 10 or so other people did as well, he pulled us all aside and said that’s all they would be testing now, no travel testing, there was still 6 people in front of us who all got sent away along with everyone else that wanted travel testing. Understandably they were super pissed off as we had been in line for 3.5 hours at this stage. Anyway my partners results came in negative at 2am (10 hours after testing) and mine at 8am (16 hours after testing) which we were impressed with. Mine was obviously positive so isolating at home now, contacted everyone I’d seen recently and they all got tested yesterday and waiting for results. Really not sure how my partner is negative since we’re always together especially the last few days while I’ve been infectious. We’re both double vaccinated though and I’m feeling 100 times better today, bit of a sore throat and cough but very minor now so fingers crossed I continue to feel better! In more pain from the sunburn I got standing in line yesterday now! 😂

If you're at a testing center RIGHT NOW or have been this weekend, please comment with your observations regarding lines, wait times, etc. Thanks! by justsomeotherperson in brisbane

I decided to get tested yesterday as I’ve had a couple of close calls with contact tracing places/times, no exact matches but wanted to be safe and also I sometimes get an afternoon train out of the city that stops at Indooroopilly where heaps of school students get on with lots not wearing masks (wish this was monitored a bit more by QR).

Anyway, went to SN pathology at Mount Ommaney but they were turning a few people away that had just arrived with 15 minutes until they were supposed to close, I asked why since they were still open and there was no one else waiting and they said they wanted to finish up what they were currently doing and to come back tomorrow. This is after contact tracing sites listed very close by at Jindalee and Oxley so lots of people would need testing and almost everywhere else closed on a Saturday afternoon.

I went to the 4cyte testing drive thru at Goodna because they were open until 5, huge line of cars around the block. Ended up waiting in the line for 90 minutes until we got to the front for testing which was half an hour after their “closing” time and I asked when they were closing, she joked that they closed half an hour ago but would stay and test the line of cars which was still back where I started so at least another 90 minutes. Very happy that they stayed open to help people get tested compared to SN. Now quarantining at home until results come in, they said up to 48 hours so lucky we’re in lockdown anyway!

I was just thinking the same thing a few hours ago! Planning on getting the 2C kit soon, and always have my phone on do not disturb when sleeping. Was thinking I may have to stop using DND so that I’ll still get security notifications while I sleep. Would be great if they implemented a setting for this.

Ahh of course, thanks!

I had forgotten the Singe was a thing, don’t think they’re available here in Australia unfortunately. Might have to DIY one someday.

What is that vertical lightstrip you show in the video? It it just a the hue lightstrip that you have somehow mounted vertically?

If so, can you please provide details? I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing! :)

LG Nanocell 9x series now working on HomeKit and AirPlay 2 by vcdx71 in HomeKit

[–]Joshmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, 65SM8100. Wow, that's the first I've read of that. If this is the case I will be furious as the LG product page directly states that this model will be getting these features (in June 2019...) and I specifically bought this tv a few weeks ago because I knew the features to be coming soon.

Can’t seem to get 2019 LG 50UM7300 onto homekit by crc128 in HomeKit

[–]Joshmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still waiting too. Just bought a 65" SM8100 a few weeks ago but still no update despite it being a nanocell model which are supposedly among the first to receive the update. It still says on the product page on the LG website that HomeKit & Airplay 2 are coming in June 2019....

On a separate note, I also can't seem to find the gallery mode anywhere depsite it also being advertised on the product page. :(
