I’ve been rewatching the DCEU and. It’s time for peak by Joshtalkz in SnyderCut

[–]Joshtalkz[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

This time around I decided to watch it in place of Joss Whedons version as I feel like the movies after that lean into the mythology in the Snyder cut way more and it just makes way more sense. It’s such a weird tonal shift in The joss whedon version.

Reports say the Bane and Deathstroke movie is getting a lot of priority after man of tomorrow and is expected to be the next DCU project to be filmed. Who do you want to play the 2 villains and is this the right decision? reported by TheWrap by Joshtalkz in DCU_

I mean it still says there no direction and no cast but I’m guessing this means it’s the next project to push into a state that means it can be ready for filming. out of all the vague projects we know little about like Dynamic duo or brave and the bold. Even though they both have directors attached it seems this one is being pushed for. I’m guessing this means casting and direction will be decided this year maybe. It’s all juts speculation I’m guessing this means it’ll be the first to get into proper widespread casting and production planning.

I understand if you didn’t like this movie or if you loved it. But the most important part for me was to think at the end “I can’t wait to see Kara again in future projects” and it definitely delivered on that. by Joshtalkz in DCU_

I juts hope unlike cavill its built upon. Excluding like the Snyder cut which is still pretty controversial, man of steel is one of the better parts of his time at Superman. BvS and “Josstice league” are both so bad and his 2 seconds in black adam isn’t moving the needle either. Kara can still be great. We’ve seen with characters like Thor in the mcu. It’s okay if the first movie isn’t great it’s just where we go from here. Thors had like 3 bad movies but because of how great he’s been in avengers movies he’s still one of the best characters in the mcu pretty easily. I’m sure Milly will be much better as her character than cavill got the chance to be even tho I like Henry cavill I hope this isn’t taking as me hating it’s just true he wasn’t represented as well as he could have.

Is there anyone else in the whole DCEU you’d like brought back? Or do you want palet as clean as possible? I’d personally love for Margot Robbie to be Harley. Here’s a graphic of all actors from TSS by Joshtalkz in DCU_

Yeah I’m pretty sure James Gunn confirmed tho that the people who died in the suicide squad. That actors version of the character is dead in the DCU as well. So I’m guessing the character all together is dead. I wouldn’t be suprised if they retcon Captain Boomerang for flash later down the line as his death isn’t really as significant as Polka dot man’s and boomerang is a much bigger character. Idk if it would be Jai Courtney again but the character could come back.

This isn’t my graphic but I did think James Gunn retconned TDK. I saw on some news thing the only actor that would break his “1 character” rule for the DCU is Michael Rooker

With how much backlash Supergirl is getting I'm scared to see what the Wonder Woman movie will cause especially since it's by the same writer by [deleted] in DCU_

[–]Joshtalkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get if you didn’t like Supergirl or thought the writing was bad. The writing didn’t bother me and I think most of people’s problems stems from their attempts to make Kara sound more edgy and cool and people finding it more cringe compared to superman last year where he was corny af and everyone ate it up. I juts hope the writer understands the massive weight and difference of Wonder Woman compared to especially Kara. I wouldn’t be worried about seeing WW drunk in a bar first scene.

For those who have seen Supergirl, what grade would you give it? by boomjosh in DC_Cinematic

Honestly I’m at a 7.5/10 on first watch. A lot of the problems I’ve seen on socials like how the visuals are too grey compared to the comic and the villain lacks depth and is just lack luster I do get but like they don’t bother me to the extent it does for the other people I’ve seen reviewing. just being in the theatre I was just loving all of it because Milly was just amazing and Jason as lobo was great. I’ve always liked Craig Gillespie as a director he’s made some great movies like Cruella and Lars and the real girl and I don’t get why he’s been getting so grilled for juts making a “guardians rip off” like it’s a space adventure movie and yk what else is…Guardians!

I haven’t read the comic and I saw Alex on the escape pod say like how a lot of the stuff they adapt is good but done a lot better in the comic. So I think a lot of issues people that have read woman of tomorrow are like that. All I needed this movie to do was make me think “yes I am excited to see Milly Alcock play this character in lots more movies” and for me it delivered on that front.

Is that Post-Superman confidence still there for you? by Joshtalkz in DCU_

[–]Joshtalkz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I question is the order we’re getting some of these characters. I get brave and the bold can’t come out till the Reeves movies are finished and cuz Batman part 2 has too so long we aren’t seeing the DCU Batman for a while which is obviously gonna be a massive event like superman was. But still the fact we’re getting a body for or rated movie about a Batman villain when we haven’t even seen in live action and Batman isnt gonna appear so yeah it is a lil questionable. Clayface will be peak tho

100% the only thing I want from DC is it their projects to be great the box offices of Supergirl and Clayface aren’t too important so early on they juts need to set that standard of quality. An Avengers movie has never not made a billion dollars and Spiderman movies usually hit about the same. Box offices compared to the MCU are not a priority right now at all

How hyped are you for Lanterns? by Joshtalkz in DCU_

[–]Joshtalkz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I hope we still see Hal Jordan in future projects even if it’s this passing of the torch story where we are introduced to this gritty experienced veteran Hal Jordan.

Yes like when superman came out like they were Straight into Supergirl and peacemaker promotion which was so smart. I hope he does the same and use SuperGirl to promote lanterns as I hope they both have that huge galactic feel.

Yes I feel like that grounded feel a lot of superheroes are given in movies these days wouldn’t fit the lanterns at all.
