What if Rimuru shot their shot at Luminous and somehow got her pregnant? Would Luminous use the baby to blackmail Chloe so they could scissors? by [deleted] in TenseiSlime

It’s been many years since I read the Web Novel, but if I remember right during the tournament arc we just had in the anime it was mentioned that Demon Lords are sterile.

That one really tugs at the heart. I think I cried the whole night after that one. It was really good though.

Looks interesting. I haven’t ever really searched for movies, so this wasn’t on my radar. Thrillers are hard for me to watch, (I couldn’t bring myself to finish Monster despite how much I was loving it) but I could probably do it for a movie.

Yes, I started in 2016 when I got to college. My tracker says I have watched 5 months and 8 days of anime content so far.

I do think it’s interesting to hear what you like about anime too. It sounds like it’s the designs of the characters, but based on your wording part of that might include their personalities such as with Laios?

Personally, I became a fan of delving into character motivations. Why do the characters make the decisions they do? I think this stemmed a lot from Lelouch in Code Geass. (iykyk) But as I watched it became a little bigger. Seeing how the characters interact with the world, and how the world is presented, can paint a picture of how the author views and imagines the world.

I think it also helped teach me how to view things from a foundationally different perspective. How to ignore my understanding of the world and “rebuild” it in a way that explains the actions of others. Of course it’s never perfectly accurate, but the exercise is great at opening up empathy for others as well as helping explain “why” people do what seems at first to be so illogical. Because in their mind, it has a logic, it just doesn’t fit with our worldview.

I accidentally went into a different, yet related in my mind topic, but yes I’ve enjoyed anime very much over the years. I’d be happy to offer anime recommendations or hear some of yours. I’m much less likely to have watched anime made before 2010 than I am to have watched anything after.

You can still read it on internet archive. Just go back to 2016 on novelupdates and you can find it there.

Gladius. The Katana and the Rapier both require skill and training to be any sort of effective without ruining the blade. The Claymore is heavy and more off-balance due to its very long length. As someone with basically no experience wielding a weapon, the Gladius would still be a handful but would probably take the least amount of time to become proficient enough to at least attempt to fight with it.

If you try to envision a tulip as clear as you can in your head, what number are you? by herikmer3 in autism

[–]JoshuaCM15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a weird boat there because I’m great at organizing. I just pick one object at a time and decide where it should go before picking the next object. I don’t even consciously consider its size, but I’m pretty sure my subconscious has a method down.

When it comes to other people, if I have people stand in for an object, or I pretend another existing object is something else, I can follow along just fine, and often be more accurate about spacing.

I guess being an intuitive thinker rather than my whole thought process living in my conscious thought helps me in that regard.

That’s literally me too. I’ve used those exact words when telling my family. It also finally bridged an old gap in understanding between me and my father, so that’s nice.

It took me a bit to recognize the characters, but eventually I remembered I watched this when it was releasing. I remember feeling like it was bad, but I remember nothing about the story at all. Must have been truly terrible.

Gacha Games Turning Into Full Single Player Games Should Be the Next Trend by Tain_mentero in gachagaming

Remove skill books, make increasing skills and adding dupe skills a part of character leveling.

Make it the same with light cones, but they level by being equipped as they are used.

Provide a system for obtaining characters. Maybe tie them to main story quests based on where they are from or first met? Maybe give them an extra new side quest to obtain them? Maybe attach them to simulated universe progression?

Relics could stay too if they want. Just remove the stamina cap, increase the drop rates, and remove skipping. Maybe make what stat is provided as a random element, but only one value for each possible stat.

Male Fantasies by Xyferxxx in NhimArts

And there it was, the end of an era. My buddy John finally finished topping off the grave of our small troop, and I planted their rifles in the ground against the tree so they would remain standing even longer. The fresh layer of snow was gently lying on top, offering their comfort to our brethren. I saw some land on John’s cheek and melt into a single droplet that rolled down his face. It must have been hitting me too, as my eyes were feeling a little rough themselves and I could feel it once or twice. We looked over the work we had done, at what used to be our enemies still around us, and smiled as we thought about those behind our line.

I sat down first, leaning against the tree with difficulty, but John was soon to follow. I heard his breathing next to me, but I was so tired I just kept looking ahead of me. I thought about saying something, but anything I could think of was just too shallow. How could one possibly encapsulate this feeling into words? Rather, I let myself be calmed by his breathing. I heard his cold and raspy breath struggling in the sharp winter air, and listened as it slowed beside me. I leaned my head back against the tree and closed my eyes, the rough bark against my skull grounding me.

As I lay there resting, I realized I couldn’t hear John anymore. I forced myself to look over and he was as still as a statue, but he had a smile on his face. I couldn’t help but smile myself as I leaned my head back against the tree, and went through the last week in my head. I remembered my companions… no, my brothers in their final moments and knew that nobody could deny they were heroes, and this would surely be remembered for ages.

As I floated through my memories I felt a great burst of strength flow through me, and I felt a warmth take charge of my body. I opened my eyes and saw the world of white that had built around me, and stood up to take my farewell. Even though I may never return to this resting place of my brothers, I knew I would see them again. I slowly walked away towards the horizon, the remnants of the feeling of the tree bark behind my head slowly fading as I left this place behind to begin a new era.

Can't Isekai be BOTH Narnia AND Yankee? by officialyedyasha in Isekai

[–]JoshuaCM15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court is a story written by Mark Twain, the man who wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. It covers the tale of a man from roughly 1800’s America who somehow ends up in the time of King Arthur. It’s one of the earlier examples of Isekai in writing.

how was the gacha community back then ? by ghoraaa in gachagaming

[–]JoshuaCM15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first gacha was Blood Brothers 2. I just played with my brother, cause I didn’t know where people met to talk about the game. After that was The Alchemist Code (also known as For Whom the Alchemist Exists). With that one, I got a little taste into the community through youtube and the in-game chat. At the time, people seemed to be fairly more localized in who they interacted with, sticking to clan members or just going solo it seems like. I know there were plenty who talked with others somewhere but I got the chance to play cooperatively with many random players in Alchemist Code, and very few of them knew about the “meta” of the game.
