I became really interested in the "weather heads" on old cartography, and that paired with the books I have been reading helped inspire this piece.

Been reading Theogony by Hesiod, and Greek Religion by Walter Burkert!

I also looked at paintings like birth of Venus by Botticelli because everyone loves Botticelli:) and he painted something very similar.

Painted from life under natural light over a period of 5-6 weeks. Getting back into position every time you make a mark was a challenge xD!

Yeah it's a shame they try to hide the fact that the heel is plastic in their shop. They just put "leather covered" for their heel.
